This shows "under" the cabin, with the first floor we completed, the dog, the wheeler, firewood, and the corner of the internet dish.

the first floor that will before winter become our "arctic entryway" (apparently that's the word for it). the outhouse is in the back of the photo, and in between you'll notice a giant ladder jaimie built to get on the roof, but you can only see one rung because its so big!
i discovered the scroll saw in the shed.
jeremy bought me this little guy in glennallen. the gas station sells handmade metalwork animals that are amazing, and the gas station can't even tell you who makes them! (p.s. keep admiring the scrollwork)
from the back. the crate is currently link's step onto the first floor. that big thing is the water tank, 150 gallons.
i went to the outhouse on this photo trip and figured i would introduce you to this guy: Putiki. On the counter in the outhouse you'll find toilet tissue, bug spray, bear spray, and what we call "the last resort knife".

other than a couple of lawyer magazines, this is the reading material in there.
this photo is jam packed with good stuff. a bag of outgoing trash, a box of "active" tools, the bike that jem rides to work, and the generator that powers our house when the solar panels aren't enough. It is LOUD though, and uses gas, so we try not to use it to often.
mom said she wanted to see firewood. there it is. that'd last a couple weeks in the middle of winter. also in the photo are two containers we haul water in, and two gas cans.
this is the temporary tool shed. jaimie was the foreman for this project as you can tell by how good it is!
this is going to be the tool shed, someday. ok, ok, before winter, i swear. we are ready to tackle the roof now.

burn barrell, to burn trash in. it's buried a foot and a half in the ground, courtesy of Travis.
This is the campfire by the house, the ground was dug out by Jeremy, Ian, and Travis. (Stop wondering if *I* do anything!)

A boy and his dog. But not like the 70s movie titled the same.
