Rant One- Mary Sues
OK, I thought I would be the LAST person I knew to complain about OC characters, but here I am. the reason for this rant is simple.
THEY�RE. GETTING. OUT. OF. CONTROL.
-sigh- Seriously now people. Do you know how many times I go into an RP chat, and see a person saying:
�I look just like Inuyasha, except I�m a girl, and I wear a pink Kimono, oh! and I have a sword exactly like Tetsusaiga, and the �sit� necklace to! I�m
Inu-Tasha!�
Or something similar? Or, I�ll go on fanfiction.net, and see the following story summary�s
�Kagome reincarnation comes... who will Inuyasha choose?�
�Kagome�s Daughter comes back after the fight with Naraku, will Inuyasha develop feelings?�
�Inuyasha has a long lost sister! Who could it be???�
�Kouga has a new mate! She a wolf demon, and the best if the best!�
I Mean, COME ON! Inuyasha has no sister. Kagome has no relatives that are perfectly perfect in every way. Kagome is not related to Mary Poppins. Inuyasha is not related to Mary poppins. Kouga WILL NOT MATE with Mary poppins.
Mary Poppins can just fly away on her friggin umbrella now. ><
OK, so I know some Original Characters are alright. alright. Ones that are just little char�s that pop up every once in a while are fine- they�re job is to move the story along.
And, I understand that if some of you people want to be an author when you grow up or something, that you have to get the feel of making characters.
BUT, Even if you were making a real story, would you have a Mary sue Character?? God, I wouldn�t read it if that was the case.
Take Miaka Yuki from Fushigi Yuugi for example. I hate her. DESPISE HER. She is a freakish Mary Sue-ish thing. me and my friends have her on our hit list. Chibi USA is also on that list.
See where I�m going here?
And, I think some of you are forgetting the important fact of- REALITY. Losing your grip on Reality is not good. NOT GOOD.
For example, The Inuyasha characters are NOT real. I�ve had a hard time telling this to myself, but I eventually got it through my thick skull. It�s ok if you just like the Chars. I, personally, look up to the voice actors. And It�s cool to have a crush on an Anime char... God knows, I have five. ^^.
please, don�t take this as a dis to Mary sue Writers. It is meant as no offense, and I apologize if any of you took it as such. This is merely to vent my anger, and fill up the �rant� section.
And, if you still take offense to this Rant, remember that it was YOUR choice to read this. I didn�t force you.
^^; now, I�m going to go check out Fan fiction, and I hope not to see any MS fics... I�m going to die if I do...
