Sunday morning service

Since they usually sing in their own churches, Vic and Caitlin decided to hold a short service at every con they go to. They placed an announcement at the info desk to anyone who wanted to join them. It started at 9am so I got up early and wore my kimono. I won't say much about the service itself except that I wish every week was like that. We sang 'Shout to the Lord' and 'Amazing Grace' (with Vic on the keyboard ^-^) and they gave their testimonies. Just getting away from 'organized religion' and learning to love God.... My fav statement was when Vic said that (paraphrasing) 'God doesn't care if you're dressed like an anime character.' I agree completely. ^.^ If there is a service at Otakon, I��ll definitely be there. ^-^

Sunday Shopping Spree

Since P-chan and Pearl-chan both signed up for the plushie workshop (lucky them...it always go by so fast and the waiting list is super long) at 10am, I headed to the dealer's room to check out the sunday sales. (Last day of con = super low prices ^-^) I bought a FMA business card holder that has Roy and Ed's state alchemist cards (I totally needed a business card holder, ^-^) a really cute Alphonse clip, two Ed/Al pins (one for P-chan and one for my Naruto co-worker-who is also an FMA fan,) as well as a Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden pencil board for Pearl-chan. It was nearing 11:30am., so I headed back to the hotel to finish packing and check out.

Climbing stairs in a kimono is not a good idea. >.<

There was a kitchen fire at the hotel so the elevators shut down. I waited for 5 minutes (to see if it'll start up again) when the firefighters came. I gave up and went up the stairs. Good thing we lived on the 4th floor...I don't think I can walk much higher. ^^; P-chan and Pearl left the plushie workshop early to come back and pack. I gave them the pencil board and pin and they surprised me with a Mokona plush that I wanted so much. O.O (This may be chronologically out of order, but basically we exchanged gifts some time that day. ^^;) By the time we were done packing, the elevators were working again (yay! ^.^) so we brought our stuff downstairs and gave everything to the front desk to hold (props and all. ^^;) Then, back to the con center.

Cosplay Chess - Angsty vs. Cutsy

Cosplayers could sign up at the info desk for the cosplay chess event. I'm not kidding...instead of black and white pieces, the board was split into Angtsy characters and Cutsy characters. I have no idea how they played though.... ^^; The 'pieces' were cosplayers and they attacked each other when 'moved'. Even though I couldn't see much, it was obviously hilarious. I caught the end of the match with the 'Angsty' side winning. ^-^

As the crowd dissipated, one of the best cosplays of that weekend appeared...a giant moogle! O.O I wanted to glomp it so much...but there were too many people wanting to take pics. So I took a pic instead. ^^;

D'espairRay signing - the wait

A line was already forming outside for the D'espairRay signing. Since the others were still browsing the dearler's room, I went and stood/sat at the line. Good thing I did that, because the line went on for many hours...and already we were at the front half. <.< P-chan and Pearl-chan came wielding yaoi and seme/uke paddles. (Gomen ne, I was confused: seme is for the masculine partner while uke is the receiver. ^^;) Pearl bought both of them. (They were all out of yuri paddles. ^-^) The wait was super long.... People who bought tickets to take pics with the band were on a separate line and went in first (though they needed to get on the signing line afterwards if they want the band to actually sign the pic.) We peeked and listened in on the leading actors panel nearby as well as played around with the paddles to kill time. Finally, a con staff came around and announced that the band was only signing official merchandise. O.o Pearl-chan bought a cd already, but P-chan and I had nothing. I ran to the dealer's room and bought a poster (for P-chan) and a handkerchief with D'espairRay on it. Hours later...we were in. ^-^

There was a box outside the signing area for people to drop their gifts to the band. Of course, I dropped two boxes of pocky. ^-^ (P-chan mentioned later that I should've written a phone number or e-mail address on it. Next time.... ^^;) I must say, they look even hotter without their multicolor hair and makeup. P-chan has eyes only for the bass player...though we don't know if it's mutual...yet.... ^.^ Some of their clothes was at the side waiting to be auctioned off later. *stares*

Last signing....

After the band signing, we went and waited for the last voice actors signing. The line wasn't super long, but it still took awhile before it actually started up. (Vic even started signing early since he needed to leave. *sniff*) Besides Vic, there was Mike S. (Leo/FMA,) Wayne Grayson (Joey/Yugioh) and Mike Pollack (narrator/Pokemon.) Since Vic already got Pocky, I opened my last box of pocky and gave the last 3 voice actors a packet each. ^-^ Turns out one of them never ate pocky before...even though the words were on his shirt. O.o; Vic ran out of cds by the time I got to him...so no cds. *bakabakabaka* (Guess I have to order it due to my idiocy. ^^;) I complimented him on his playing that morning and informed him that I also played piano for my church. He said that he truly hopes I can get one of his piano cds...which I definitely will. ^-^

We were totally famished by that time so we ended the afternoon at Hooligans. I ordered the mini dessert that I couldn't eat the first evening and we shared a wonderful meal...though for some reason we couldn't finish a single meal among the three of us. ^^; Too many fries I think.... We took some pics on the way back to the hotel and hung around in the nice air conditioned lobby until our ride came around 7pm.

The ride was smooth...although I was half asleep all the way back. We dropped off Pearl-chan and P-chan. I can barely remember how I managed to get everything back into my house and unpacked.... ^^; After a shower and a small snack, I was asleep. ^.^
