On August 31, 2001, A horse-drawn carriage carried R&B star Aaliyah's coffin to the funeral home like the princess was. People to attend the services were family and friends such as P.Diddy, Timbaland, Missy-Elliott, Damon Dash, Lil Kim, Busta Rhymes, Magoo, Playa, Ginuwine, Mike Tyson, Ananda Lewis, Delroy Lindo, Kidada Jones, and many others. After the funeral home reception was over, everyone stepped outside to watch Aaliyah's mom, Diane Haughton, release 22 doves into the air; each representing a year of Aaliyah's life. She was then taken to St. Ignatius Loyola Church for services in New York.
