�OK, just hold on a sec. James is on the phone talking to his mum.�
Usually its me who�s gonna be late but today its James, yeeha.
Busted are on tour since two months and it�s sold out. Right now we are in Edinburgh and the concert hall is full. I don�t know exactly how they do it, but Busted are always that excited and nervous as if it was the first gig ever. I am Gwen by the way, Matt�s girlfriend and the stylist. Helen, James� girlfriend and Dawn, she�s my mate, are here as well and are helping me with the costumes and make up. Dawn has an eye on Charlie, and he knows it, but he is too shy to ask her out.
�Hey guys hurry up, they are waiting for you.� I yelled. Finally they arrived. With their guitars in their hands , they rushed onto the stage. The first song, Falling For You, started and Matt gave me a wink. He knew that I loved that song.
The show went on very well and after the break they played When The Day Turns Into Night, my favourite!! But suddenly there was a thunder which turned even louder than the music. Busted looked stunned and worried, and stopped playing, when suddenly a lightning appeared and a huge white cloud which came into being a fog. Helen and Dawn stepped on the stage to find the guys, but they didn�t answer. I followed them but I couldn�t hear or find neither Dawn and Helen nor the guys. I couldn�t even see my own hand. All at once I got sucked up be a huge purple hole. I got twisted around and I thought I would throw up when I lost my conscious.
�Hey Gwen, wake up,�do you think she�s got a concussion?�
�Dunno, I don�t think so� Helen said.
�Damn, where the fuck are we?�
�You guys think as well that we have been on stage a few seconds ago, right ?� Matt asked.
�I agree, but where are we NOW!!!� Dawn yelled.
Charlie: �Ok,�let me think� we shall try to wake up Gwen, then we shall go to find a telephone or a taxi, ok?�
Helen: �I think so too.�
James: �Hey Gwen, wake up�. Hey, there you go��
�Oh my God, my head...what happened... where,�where am I? Matt, where are we?�
Matt: We don�t really know but we wanna go to find a telephone or something like that.�
Gwen: �Ok,�guys,...have you been sucked up by a huge hole or am I just completely insane?�
James: �No, I felt like I had to throw up and then everything was that dark and suddenly I was here, surrounded by Charlie and Matt.�
We were walking through the forest without any break. While it turned into night we decided to sleep at a glade near a river. But nobody was able to sleep. The questions, where we are and why and how we got here were spinning around in our heads. I was still a little confused (well, I think we all were) but I had to talk to someone.
�Matt� I whispered in his ear �do you think we can get home fast?�
�Dunno hun, we�ll try,� but how can we try to get home if we even don�t know where we are right now. �I think you should try to sleep.�
�K, good night. Love ya � I said and gave him a kiss on his cheek.
I don�t know how long I slept but I woke up in a dark, damp room. Some rats were running along the wall. I cried out loud cos I am fucking scared of rats. Helen was sitting next to me.
I wanted to know what happened but what I heard was unbelievable.
�We got caught by a �how can I explain it�by a knight. He thought we were evil and maybe even witches. We are in the dungeon of his kings castle.� Helen said in a small voice.
That reminds me of Robin Hood.
�Are you kidding me?� I asked. But she shook her head. But Dawn was not here. �Where is Dawn and where are the boys?�
�The boys were in the forest to find some wood to make a campfire, so they don�t know where we are. And Dawn, ... they brought her somewhere else,� I think to the King,�. I don�t know exactly.� she answered absent-minded. Now I got afraid. What happened to Dawn? Or is she in another dungeon? Or is she even dead? Too many questions. But I soon got an answer for all these questions.
Around evening a tall man came to our dungeon and asked us what we are and why we look so strange. Well, can�t blame him, wearing a tight jeans and a black top which says �Led Zeppelin� doesn�t inspire much confidence. Especially for a guy living in the 16th century, which we found out when we asked him what date we have.
�It�s the 25th of august, 1532. Now tell me what are you doing in King Luthers Kingdom?�
We really tried to convince him that we don�t wanna harm anybody and that we have no clue what we are doing here, but it wasn�t really working. I thought playing a song from Busted on my mp3 player could help him believe that we are from the future but it didn�t. Quite the reverse, were supposed to burn! Yes you heard it right. BURN!!! Like a witch. We got accused of doing witchcraft. It couldn�t get any worse. It was like a nightmare. We didn�t know where Dawn was and the boys and why we are here and now we are supposed to burn. Great, I always wanted to spend my Friday night in a dungeon or rather on the stake. At least that was something different. At night we got something to eat. It wasn�t much, but we were starving. And then Helen burst out in tears.
�I cant take it anymore, Gwen. How the hell did we get here? I don�t wanna die tomorrow �
�I know, I don�t wanna die either. But I guess the guys planned something to break out. You remember James and Matt breaking out of school detention in last year in school?�
�You�re right,�� she said under tears �they�re gonna find a way out.�
�Yes, we�re gonna be home tomorrow evening and we�re not gonna burn, I promise.� No,� I hope. I was telling her that it all is gonna work out, but I wasn�t really convinced. Honestly I saw myself standing on the stake. A tear fell down of my cheek.
�We�re gonna make it� I whispered but Helen didn�t notice, she was already asleep.
�Ok Charlie, what is your idea?�
�Well, I thought to find out where the girls are, we shall try to get over the city wall to the market place. Then we try to do whatever is on our mind to get the girls free.�
�And that�s your brilliant plan?� Matt asked ironically.
�Well, its more than nothing, is it?� James said.
�Ok, lets go,�but wait, maybe we shall try to wear something which is not that striking.�
�Yeah, you�re right, but how�� James stopped talking and grinned �Guys, look over there� he said pointing at a little farm. They went to the wooden house and looked if someone�s at home. But nobody was there so they stole some clothes from the line. Now it was time to go.
Dawn was standing at the window and a warm wind was blowing through the huge room. It was a bright room with heavy red curtains and colourful carpets hanging on the wall. Although it was a warm and sunny day she shivered inside. She knew what she had to do to keep her friends alive. She still heard the words which King Luther said. These words felt like knives cutting deep wounds into her skin and heart. She remembers every single word he said.
�Lady Dawn, may I introduce myself, I�m King Luthor. You might ask yourself why I keep you here and your girlfriends in the dungeon. Well, you are something special. You are born to be a queen, my queen. I gave order to my magician to bring you to me. And it worked�. Now I want you to marry me. I thought it would be easier for you to say �YES� if I let your girlfriends die on the stake if you refuse to marry me.� Dawn wanted to cut his throat but instead of that she was petrified. She fell on the bed and cried.
In the meantime on the market place:
�Matt, I found out that Helen and Gwen are supposed to burn on the stake tomorrow 10am.
But I don�t know where Dawn is.� Charlie whispered.
�Shit,�now we have to think about another plan. I think its impossible to get into the castle or rather into the dungeon.� Matt said. They went out of the city and made a new plan to rescue Helen, Gwen and to find Dawn .
Saturday morning, 9.30 : Market place:
The market was full of people which made it a lot easier for James and Matt to get into the city without any complications. They saw immediately the two stacks in the middle of the market. Meanwhile Charlie was standing in front of the gate which separates the castle from the market. Gwen and Helen are going through that gate when they are walking to the stacks.
And then Charlie can grab them and run away with them.
9.30 Dungeon:
�Hey , witch, wake up� somebody screamed. �Satan is waiting for you.� This man was really annoying me. While we got tied up I tried to convince Helen that everything will be okay again. But I wasn�t really sure about it anymore. I was afraid and just wanted to cry. At 9.45 the warder came to lead us to the executioner.
Castle: 9.45
Dawn sat at the breakfast table and was starving but she couldn�t eat anything. Her eyes were red cos she cried all night. She couldn�t take it anymore. She stood up and went through the hallway to the balcony. That was the point where you have the best view on the market .
King Luther was already waiting for her. His magicians and advisers stood behind him.
�Lady Dawn, I�m glad you joined. Did you make a decision?�
�I did. But before we,� I mean,� you send my friends back home at first ?�
�If that is what you want, I accept it. Oh, look�your girlfriends are down there�� He said and pointed at Gwen and Helen, walking through the crowd which was yelling.
Market place :
All these people screamed at Helen and me. I never felt like this before. The fear and the will to break out and then to know that you�re gonna die in a few moments is unbearable.
�Burn. Burn. Burn.�
�Say hello to Satan�
�Die� It was awful. But suddenly I saw Charlie standing in the crowd. He grabbed my arm and Helens and tried to pull us through the gate, but a guardian was immediately there knocked him out. Then we continued our way to the stacks.
Balcony 9.50
�I knew your friends would try to break out.� Dawn couldn�t see it anymore. She turned around. Tears filling up her eyes.
Stacks: 9.55
I was tied up at a stake, so did Helen. Charlie was tied at a barrel.
�Charlie what are you doing here?� Helen asked.
�We are trying to rescue you, isn�t that obvious?�
�OK, maybe I�m just new in this whole rescuing thing,�but this, to me, might be considered as a step backwards, wouldn�t you say?� I asked.
�Yeah well,�It wasn�t supposed to happen like that. Matt and James are hopefully trying to get us out of this.�
Balcony 9.59
Dawn turned around and quivered.
�Luthor,�please release my friends,�I...I�m gonna marry you.� Luthor smiled in a greasy way.
�OK, I�m glad you chose that way.� He turned to his adviser and said:� Burn them!�
�NO! YOU PROMISED TO SEND THEM HOME; YOU SAID THAT�..�
�No, Lady Dawn, I said I�m gonna send them home but I didn�t tell you if they are gonna be dead or alive!� Dawn burst out in tears. She screamed and tried to run away, but the advisers held her tight.
Stacks: 10:00
�Gwen,� I�m afraid.�
�I�m afraid too, Helen.� The executioner burned the wood beneath our stacks. When I saw the fire, I panicked. My heart was beating so fast and I got a little dizzy. Suddenly I saw a black figure running up the fire hill and throwing my stack on the floor. I felt a massive pain in my arms when I landed on the floor. Then I knew what happened:
Matt and James were running up to the stacks and were trying to knock over the stacks. And it worked. I was lying on the floor with my hands tied around the stack. That caused my massive pain. James and Matt released Charlie from the barrel and helped us to stand up and to get rid of the stacks and the bonds. After that I hugged and kissed Matt like I hadn�t seen him for ages. I thought I would die and never see him again.
�I love you so much , thank god you�re here� I said when I started to cry. All this pressure fell from my shoulders. But there was still one problem: how can we find Dawn.
Balcony 10.01
�That�s not happening, is it?� Luthor was in rage. Never ever has an escape attempt happen in his kingdom.
�King Luthor,� one magician asked �I think we should let these people go, Lady Dawn inclusive.�
�NO, she is going anywhere!� he screamed and grabbed Dawns hand.
�Charlie!! Help!� that was all she could scream out loud. But it was loud enough for Charlie to know where she was. Luthor was running to the attic where an old man with white hair and grey skin was already waiting.
�Get us married� Luthor yelled at him. Dawn was standing next to him, shivering. Luthor hold a knife next to her throat.
Charlie was running up the stairs to the castle. But the gate was locked.
�Charlie, I got an idea.� Helen said �You could go up the stairs at the wall, then jump and hang over to the window over there,� she pointed at the window with a black curtain �Dawn must be there!�
�OK, thanks Helen.� Charlie did as he was told and jumped into the window and landed on the old mans back.
�You!� Luthor said �what are you doing here? Are you trying to get her back? Then fight like a man!� Luthor said jumped on Charlie who was lying on the floor but then removed and jumped up on his feet. Luthor took the knife and attacked Charlie and hit him in the side.
�No, Charlie, c�mon move,�� Dawn said and held Charlie in her arms. �Please don�t, �don�t die, Charlie please, don�t do this to me.� tears are falling down.
�I�m not gonna give up� Charlie said and stood up. �You�re not gonna stay with him Dawn, your gonna be with me.� Suddenly Luthor ran towards Charlie, but he grabbed a plate lying on a table and knocked Luthor down. Charlie fell on his knees. The pain was massive and he didn�t stop bleeding. Dawn cried and fell on her knees in front of Charlie who kissed her passionate.
�We better go now� said Dawn when a familiar voice said,
�I definitely agree!� When they looked at the door they saw Matt, James , Helen and Gwen, standing next to a woman wearing a white dress with blue stripes.
�I know you�ve had a lot of trouble in the last hours, but I think I should send you home. But before that I�m gonna stop your wound bleeding.� the woman said in a soft voice. She hold her hand over Charlie�s wound and light came out of her hand. Suddenly the wound was closed, it was like there had never been any scratch.
�I�m Soranda, I am one of the witches who brought you here. I�m sorry for the strains, I didn�t know what Luthor really wanted to do. But enough of it, I want you to stand here � she pointed at the middle of the carpet. �Now be quiet! You creature you called us, being welcomed not cursed, being welcomed, hear this request and don�t remain any longer in this world.� Suddenly a bright light surrounded us and I heard a ringing tone when we were back again. We were standing on stage and the fog was still around us.
We all looked pretty stunned but remembered quickly what has happened before this adventure.
We girls left the stage and the guys started to play again the song �When the day turns into night� and apologized for the power failure.
The concert and the tour were great.
Now what else do I have to say? Charlie and Dawn are finally a couple, James and Helen married and Matt and I,�well,.. have to tell him that I am pregnant. I am fucking scared of it, but when I remember what I felt back there on the stack, I know that we are gonna make it.
