Nameless
I lay on the rain soaked grass, staring at the darkened grey sky. I screwed up my eyes to adjust to the sun that was rising from a far off hill. I sat upright and looked around. I was lying in a random field with an empty one way road by the side of it. I closed my eyes and fell helplessly onto the grass. I was so weak, I didn’t want to move. I carelessly dropped my hand down next to me when I felt something soft. My eyes shot open to see my best friend Rosie. I smiled slightly but felt my eyes closing again. I tried to remember what had happened. Why was I soaking? It can’t have rained that much.
“Jess,” Rosie nudged me.
“Mmmm,” I managed to mumble.
“What are we going to do?”
“I don’t know,” I grimaced as I tried to move my legs, “I’m in a lot of pain.”
“Are your legs ok?”
“Yeah...” I gasped, “No.”
“At least you can feel them, that’s a good sign.”
“Yeah… I guess.” I played with a dandelion. “What about you? Is your arm ok?”
“Not really… I can’t move it.”
“Babes,” I sighed, “We’re screwed.”
“Yep, unless we can fish our car out of the river,” she joked. I smiled as much as I could.
“But even then, we can’t drive… as a matter of fact… what happened to Chris?”
“Didn’t you see?”
“No…” I frowned.
“He jumped out of the car as he swerved.”
“You mean it was purposeful?”
“I think so…”
“But why?” I cried.
BANG!
“What the hell was that?” I gasped.
“I don’t know I’m too weak to move.” I started to panic and I could tell Rosie felt the same.
“Oi!” a Londoner voice shouted.
“Oh my god Rosie, keep completely quiet,” I gasped. She nodded and we sat there shaking.
“Oi you two,” he shouted again.
“Matt, don’t be so rude,” a more well spoken man interjected.
“Fine, girls can you hear me?” Matt, as we discovered he was called, shouted.
“What should we do?” Rosie whispered to me.
“I don’t know…” I thought. “Yes!”
“They’re alive,” another voice gasped. We heard some running as they approached.
“Are you ok?” Matt leant over me.
“Not really,” I coughed.
“What seems to be the matter?” the posh one asked me. My eyes bulged out their sockets; he had to be the best looking man in the whole entire world.
“Um,” I stuttered, “My legs.”
“Oh dear,” he gulped, “Come here.” I meekly wrapped my arms around his neck as he slid his arms under my legs. With one swift movement he picked me up.
“How’s that?” he asked, whilst looking into my eyes with his own deep brown ones.
“Good,” I nodded, “Where’s Rosie?”
“Jimmy and Matt are helping her back to the car.”
“Oh ok,” I nodded and felt my eyes closing again.
In the hospital…
I opened my eyes and surveyed my surroundings. The walls were white, not a clean white, a dull and darkened white. There was one small window letting a small amount of light into the room. My bed was hard and uncomfortable. I wriggled around helplessly. Where was Rosie? What had happened? I looked down to my legs to see that they were bandaged. Blood had seeped through. I licked my dry lips and suddenly felt aware that I was not alone. I swiftly moved my gaze to the right where there was a man. The one who’d helped me. He was so gorgeous, even if asleep. I stared longingly at him.
“Ah Miss Spencer good to see you’re awake,” a doctor walked through the door with a knowing smile on his face.
“Where am I?” I asked.
“I understand you must be a bit puzzled,” he chuckled, “You’re in St Mary’s Hospital in Bristol.”
“Where’s Rosie?”
“If you’re referring to Rosie Boorman, she’s in the fracture clinic at the moment.”
“What?” I gasped.
“She’s fractured her arm.”
“Oh babes,” I sighed.
“Oh dear, you’re bandages aren’t holding up,” he frowned, “Oh well, you’ll be having stitches soon.”
“Great,” I sighed sarcastically.
“Charlie,” he called out.
“Who?” I asked puzzled when I saw the guy in the chair wake up.
“Charlie stayed with you since he brought you in yesterday,” the doctor, who I found out, was called Tom, smiled at me and left. I looked to Charlie.
“How are you feeling?” he asked sweetly.
“Confused,” I smiled.
“Well you had a car accident and we found you lying in a field, then you passed out and we took you here.”
“I’m not confused about that,” I bit my lip.
“What about then?”
“Why you stayed with me?” I asked.
“Oh well um, it was just, um you know, common courtesy,” he blushed.
“Right,” I frowned.
Rosie…
“What colour plaster would you like?” the plaster moulders asked.
“Um,” Rosie thought.
“Get red,” Matt grinned.
“Nah blue,” James, the other man who helped us argued.
“Blue,” Rosie told the plaster moulders.
“Ooh,” Matt raised his eyebrows playfully. Rosie still couldn’t believe that Busted were looking after her in hospital. She stared at James whilst he and Matt chatted intently about a concert they’d done.
“Can I go see Jess?” Rosie asked when they’d finished her plaster.
“Sure,” James smiled cutely, she blushed.
“I’ll take her,” Matt offered.
“Oh ok,” James sighed as Matt took her to my room.
My room…
“So, Jess,” Charlie smiled, “What is it that you do?”
“What do you mean?”
“For a living,” he laughed.
“Oh right,” I blushed, “Um…” What was I supposed to say? I’m sixteen…
“Jess,” Rosie walked through the door.
“Rosie!” I grinned. Thank god for Rosie.
“Oh my god, look at your legs,” she gasped.
“Yeah…well the windscreen did smash into my legs.”
“That’s awful,” Charlie stroked my hand.
“How’s your arm?” I asked Rosie.
“Yeah it’s alright.”
“Cool plaster,” I smiled.
“Jess,” Tom the doctor came through the door.
“Yeah?” I looked up.
“Time for stitches,” he said almost gleefully.
“Ok,” I nodded, “See you guys later.” My bed was wheeled out.
A few days later…
I zipped up the black bag and took one last look of the hospital room. God I was happy to be leaving. I opened the door to see Charlie standing there with a bunch of white lilies.
“For me?” I gasped.
“Of course,” he nodded. I took them and hugged him tightly.
“Thanks.” He walked I out to the front door. I saw a long black car.
“Rosie told me it was ok if I took you home,” he smiled.
“Oh thanks,” I blushed, “You really shouldn’t have.” He smiled and opened the door for her. We went in and drove to Matthew’s flat. I took my spare key out and unlocked the door.
“Rosie babes, I’m home,” I called out but got no answer. Charlie stood shyly in the doorway.
“Come in,” I laughed. He shut the door and looked around the hallway. I opened the door to the lounge to see a large metal pole in the middle of the lounge.
“Oh my god,” I cringed.
“What is it? Are you alright?” he asked as he came into the lounge. He saw the pole and found it hard to contain a dirty smile.
“Be right back, make your self comfortable,” I smiled and ran off. I chucked my bag into my room and checked Rosie’s room for her but she wasn’t there. I walked calmly back into the lounge to see Charlie sitting nervously on the sofa.
“Would you like a drink?” I asked.
“I’d love one.”
“What would you like?”
“What have you got?”
“Um… coffee… tea… not much sorry,” I blushed.
“Water’s fine,” he smiled. I nodded and poured him a glass of water. I walked back to the lounge and handed him the cup.
“I don’t know where Rosie is,” I frowned.
“On a date,” he smiled.
“Aw really?” I smiled, “I’m so glad James realised.”
“What? She’s on a date with Matt.”
“Oh,” I blushed, “That’s what I meant.”
“Why did you say James?”
“I don’t know,” I shrugged, “How about some music?” I ran over to the stereo and played the CD in there. It had ‘Let’s Get It On’ by Marvin Gaye on it. I buried my face in my hands.
“Don’t worry about it,” he laughed.
Rosie…
“You having a good time?” Matt asked whilst wrapping his arm around Rosie.
“What?” Rosie snapped out of her gaze at Cait and James.
“You’ve been really out of it are you ok?”
“I’m fine,” Rosie snapped.
“Sorry for asking,” Matt removed his arm from Rosie. Rosie stroked a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear. She looked up at Matt; he was quite a bit taller as she was only 5ft 5. She slid her thin figure into Matt’s arm again.
“What’s with you this evening?” he laughed.
“Don’t know, I’m random,” she joked. James and Cait stopped kissing for a second and looked over. James’ eyes narrowed on Matt’s arm. How could she let Matt have his arm around her? Matt wasn’t good enough for Rosie… James knew it…he had wanted her all along but when Matt said stay away he knew that he’d better. James liked Cait but she flailed in comparison to Rosie.
“I’m going to get a drink,” Cait smiled and walked over to the counter. Matt watched her walk with her silky dress loosely flowing over her perfect figure. James’ stare didn’t move from Rosie. She looked beautiful; she was wearing some old jeans and a plain t-shirt. Ok so Cait was dressed beautifully but Rosie looked just as good in James’ mind.
Me…
“Want to pole dance for me?”
“No, I don’t think so,” I laughed, “Besides; pole dancing isn’t the only thing I do.”
“Sorry, what do you do?”
“Lap dance,” I smiled with a cheeky glint in my eyes. I stood up and went to change the CD. Charlie thought to himself how beautiful I was, I’m really tall.
“Jess,” he smiled.
“Yeah,” I swiftly turned around, letting my long caramel hair swing around after me.
“How tall are you?”
“5ft 9,” I blushed. He smiled to himself, tall, pretty, nice figure… I changed the CD to my Maria Willson one.
“You like her?”
“Yeah,” I smiled, “She’s amazing.”
“Great pole dancing music,” he smiled, “Or lap dancing.”
“I’ll give you a lap dance,” I raised my eyebrows.
“Y-you would?” he gulped.
“Sure,” I nodded.
“I won’t ask,” he blushed.
“Aw, you’re embarrassed,” I laughed. I ran over and started to give him a lap dance. He closed his eyes, smiling. I fell over his legs and landed lying across his lap on the sofa. We laughed and I stared at him. He slid his arm under my back and lifted me up with it. I looked into his eyes. They were deep brown. He swept my hair away from my face and leant in. I grabbed his head with my hands and pulled him closer. We kissed softly and then he pushed me back onto the sofa. He kissed me really heavily. He started to slide my top off.
BANG
“Jess, I’m home,” Rosie called out. Charlie jumped backwards and I got off the sofa. I pulled my top back down.
“Hey,” I smiled and hugged her.
“Hey, Matt’s just using the bathroom,” she told me.
“Alright,” I nodded.
“Jess, I’d better go,” Charlie sighed as Rosie walked off into the kitchen. I walked with him to the front door.
“See you,” he sighed.
“Bye,” I nodded and pulled him close for a hug, “Come here tomorrow at 2.” He smiled and left. I walked to my bedroom door.
“Night Rosie,” I shouted.
“Night,” she shouted back. Matt left the bathroom and went into the kitchen.
“Hey sexy,” he growled and slid his hand up her top at the back.
“Matt, stop it,” she shivered and jumped away.
“Sorry,” he blushed.
“We’ve only been on three dates.”
“Yeah and we haven’t even kissed.” She rolled her eyes and kissed him.
“Now I need some sleep,” she pushed him towards the front door.
“Fine, see you tomorrow at 2, yeah?”
“Yes, bye,” she growled and slammed the door. She felt so mean going out with Matt when she was madly in love with James.
The next day at 2pm
KNOCK
"I’ll get it," Rosie shouted. She had a slinky black dress on and her hair was dead straight. She opened the door to see Matt with a boyish grin.
"Wow," he gasped, "You look so fit."
"Thanks," she blushed, "See you later Jess."
"Bye," I hurried her out the door in my tracksuit and ran to my room. What should I wear? I scanned through my clothes. I slid my pink thong on, my denim pleated mini skirt and my relax top. I styled my hair straight and lay down on the sofa.
KNOCK
I walked slowly to the door and opened it.
"Oh my god," he gasped, ran into the flat and slammed the door.
"What?" I twisted my hair.
"You know what," he breathed deeply. I slid my hands along his chest.
"Not really," I bit my lip as he started to smile. I leant up and kissed him. We kiss walked into my bedroom. He threw me back onto my bed.
Rosie…
"Rosie, how’s your arm?" James asked.
"Fine," Matt answered for her.
"Ok," James frowned and turned back to Cait. "You look really nice," he smiled cutely at her.
"Yeah," Cait laughed.
"Cait, want to go see that shop?" Matt offered.
"Love to," Cait smiled and they walked off together leaving James and Rosie sitting on opposite benches.
"So," James played with his hands.
"So," Rosie blushed.
"You like Matt then?"
"Um…" she thought, she couldn’t really tell Matt’s best friend that she didn’t like him, "Yeah, how about you and Cait?"
"Oh that’s not that serious."
"It’s not?"
"Nah, we’re just having a laugh."
"Oh," Rosie smiled inwardly.
"How about you and Matt?"
"What about us?"
"Are you serious?"
"Oh um…" she thought about it, "Chris!"
"What?" James asked puzzled.
"Oh my god," she started hyperventilating.
"What is it?"
"Help me," she started crying.
"What is it honey?" he gasped and then blushed at his outburst. She couldn’t speak she just shook her head.
"Do you want us to go somewhere?" She nodded. He held out his hand, she took it quickly and they starting running.
"My arm," Rosie winced and stopped, Chris was gaining on them. James swept her into his arms and ran. They ended up in some girls’ toilets.
"I shouldn’t be here," James blushed at all the girls staring at him.
"In there," Rosie pointed to an empty cubicle. He carried her in and then locked the door.
"Has anyone seen a blonde guy carrying a blonde girl?" Chris’ voice boomed.
"No," all the girls lied for them.
"Ok," he growled and stormed out. James was holding Rosie tightly to him.
"It’s alright, its ok," he smiled reassuringly at her.
"No," she shook her head, "He wants to kill me."
"I’ll kill him if he even so much as touches you." Rosie was taken aback at what James had said.
"Rosie," he started, "There’s something I."
RING
"It’s mine," James struggled to get his phone out whilst holding Rosie.
"Where is it?"
"In my back pocket," he blushed. Rosie slid it out blushing and answered it.
"Hey Rosie, where are you?"
"In the girls’ toilets," she blushed after she realised how bad that must have sounded.
"What?"
"Chris was chasing me."
"Oh my god," Cait gasped.
"Yeah, where are you?"
"In the car," Cait told her.
"Alright, we’ll be out in a sec." She hung up and smiled whilst putting the phone back in his pocket. James unlocked the door and carried her to the car.
"Oh my god baby are you ok?" Matt jumped out the car and snatched Rosie from James.
"Yeah, I’m fine," she growled annoyed. Matt smiled cutely and put her into the back.
"Hey James, have fun in the girls’ toilets?"
"Yeah," James blushed.
"Oh my god, get in the car and drive Matt," James shouted.
"What is it?" Matt asked whilst stroking Rosie.
"Chris!" James shouted. Matt legged it to the front seat and started to drive. Chris was running after them.
Me…
I woke up breathless. I looked to the side of me to see an empty bed. I slid on my dressing gown and walked into the lounge. There was a note on the table. I picked it up and read the scrawly writing.
Jess,
Had to go, sorry! Thanks for the afternoon. I’ll talk to you soon.
x Charlie x
I re-read the note. How could he be so blunt about it? I was really angry with him. I stormed into the bathroom and had a shower to wash any remaining DNA of him off me. Sure, many girls would have loved to sleep with Charlie Simpson. But they didn’t know what a dick he was. Rosie arrived home with Matt. I walked into the lounge in my towel.
"Hey Jess," Rosie smiled.
"Hey," I nodded.
"Charlie’s here to see you," Matt explained.
"What?" I growled.
"He’s in your room," Rosie explained. I ran to my room and opened the door. Sure enough, there was Charlie, sitting on my bed.
"Nice towel," he joked.
"Get out," I growled.
"Jess, what’s wrong?"
"Leave."
"Talk to me, please."
"You know what you did."
"How did you find out?" he asked. I thought for a second… he’s not talking about the note.
"Some one told me," I lied.
"Who?" he bit his lip.
"Um…Matt," I sighed.
"That twat… Jess… I’m so sorry."
"Yeah well you should be," I growled.
"There’s just something about you… I know that it’s wrong… I’m with someone else… but…"
"You’re what?"
"With someone else," he frowned.
"You dick," I screamed.
"Wait a minute, you said you knew."
"I was lying, now leave."
"Fine," he frowned, "I’ll see you around."
"I don’t think so."
"Bye then." I shut the door after him and lay down onto my bed. Is it really possible for me to love him?
Rosie…
"Rosie," Matt smiled at her cutely.
"What?"
"You’re so beautiful."
"Um thanks," she blushed.
KNOCK
"I’ll get it," Rosie jumped up before Matt could lean in. She ran to the door and opened it to see a rain-soaked James.
"Come with me," she whispered, she took his hand and led him to her bedroom, "I’ll be right back." James nodded but seemed very weak. Rosie shut the door and walked back to the lounge.
"Who was it?" Matt asked whilst patting his lap.
"Um… my sister…she’s not feeling too well, you’d better leave."
"Can’t I meet her?"
"Some other time," Rosie dragged him to the front door.
"Ok, see you soon," he kissed her quickly and left. She walked slowly to her room and opened the door. James was staring at the floor nervously.
"What happened to you?" Rosie gasped at the cut across his face.
"I got beaten up by a fan’s boyfriend."
"Oh my god, you need to get that cleaned up."
"I don’t think it’s the only one," James frowned.
"Where else?" she asked worriedly. James tried to strip his shirt off but it proved too painful for him. Rosie walked over and slid it off slowly for him to reveal a series of deep cuts. One, the deepest, was slashed across his chest. His whole body was blood soaked as the rain had washed it over him. He cried out in pain as Rosie lightly touched the cut.
"Ok, I think we have some antiseptic in the cupboard, I’ll go check, and you lie down." She walked to the cupboard and pulled out the big bottle of antiseptic. She walked back to her room to see that James’ blood had seeped onto her covers.
"Ok, come into the bathroom," she held out her hand. James staggered over to her and used her for support as they walked over to the bathroom. She laid him in the bath.
"Ow," he winced.
"You alright?" she gasped.
"Fine," he nodded, trying to be brave.
"Um… I don’t want this to sound dodgy but you’ll need to take your trousers off…unless you want them to get soaked in antiseptic."
"Its fine," he nodded and slid them off slowly, revealing yet more cuts.
"Oh my god," she gasped and slowly turned the taps on to a right temperature. She watched James bite down hard on his lip as the water delved into his cuts. She saw the water turn a deep red. The water reached his largest cut across his chest and tears streamed down his cute cheeks. Rosie opened the antiseptic and poured it slowly into the bathwater. James grabbed hold of the bath edges and wriggled around uncomfortably.
"Is there anything I can do?" she worried.
"No, just leave me," he sighed. Rosie nodded, left the bathroom and shut the door. She sat on the sofa and waited for him to come out. An hour passed and Rosie started to get worried and opened the bathroom door to see James lying on the floor naked and shaking.
"James," she gasped.
"So cold," he shivered. She grabbed a long towel.
"Stand up," she ordered. He stood up shakily and she wrapped the towel around him tightly. He fell into her and she steadied them both.
"Um, all your clothes are soaking… Matthew might have left some, I’ll go see." She sat him on the sofa and ran to Matthew’s room. She opened the wardrobe, sad to see that there was only one pair of trousers.
"Jess has some boxers," she remembered and ran into my room.
"What is it?" I gasped.
"Boxers, I need your boxers."
"Ok," I handed them to her.
"Thanks," she hugged me and then shut the door. She ran to the lounge and handed them to James. He slid the towel off and Rosie looked away. He put the clothes on and stood there shirtless. She looked at him, he was grinning uncontrollably.
"Um… hot cocoa," she nodded. She walked to the kitchen, and James followed. She put two mugs out and filled the kettle. James came up behind her and slid his arms around her.
"James," she blushed. He started kissing the top of her head loads and then he kissed her cheeks and her neck. She turned around and looked at him. He was grinning down at her. She found her self staring at his perfect body.
"I know what could warm me up," he smiled cheekily.
"James," she blushed as he slid his hands onto her face. He leant down.
"Hmm hmmm," I came into the kitchen.
"Jess," Rosie jumped back a metre from James.
"Oh hi James," I smiled evilly, "What are you doing here, shirtless?"
"Oh um, I got beaten up."
"My god, look at your cuts," I gasped.
"Yeah, I’m alright," he lied.
"Well, I’m going back to bed," I raised my eyebrows at them.
"Night," Rosie growled. I smiled behind James’ back and walked off to my room.
"Sorry about her," Rosie blushed. James laughed and looked around the kitchen.
"It’s alright; she’s probably pissed off with love at the moment."
"What?"
"Charlie’s two-timing her."
"Oh my god," Rosie gasped, "What did you say?"
"Charlie’s two-timing her?"
"No before that."
"She’s probably pissed off with love at the moment?"
"That’s the one," Rosie blushed.
"Oh," he bit his lip to contain a smile, "That."
"I have to get changed," Rosie blushed.
"Alright, I’ll be on the sofa with my cocoa," he grinned.
"Ok," she smiled nervously and ran off to her room. She slid on a pink silk nighty and walked into the lounge where James was dancing around the pole.
"Hi," Rosie giggled. James spun around and tripped over the pole, falling straight into Rosie causing them both to collapse onto the carpet. James was lying on top and Rosie blushed and looked up at him.
"I think I like this," James smiled slightly.
"James," Rosie blushed.
KNOCK
"Rosie, it’s me, Matt, can we talk?" he opened the unlocked door. Rosie practically threw James into the bathroom and shut the door.
"Sure," she smiled and walked over to him.
"I really like you," he grinned a cheeky grin.
"Thanks Matt."
"And I wanted to ask you earlier."
"Yeah?" she bit her lip.
"Would you like to be my girlfriend?" he stared at her with a serious face on.
"Um," she looked into his deep brown eyes.
"Before you answer," he took her hands and kissed her really passionately. They pulled apart.
"Matt," she started, "Yes." She sighed inside, she felt awful, but she couldn’t turn him down, she’d upset him more.
"You will?"
"Yep," she shrugged, "Now I need some sleep."
"Ok, see you soon," he left grinning. Rosie walked over to the bathroom and opened the door to see James staring at her.
"James."
"Don’t bother…we never kissed…nothing happened…thanks for looking after me," he smiled as realistically as he could.
"James."
"Leave it. I’ll see you around," he smiled, looked up and down her whilst licking his lips and then walked out of the flat
A few days later…
There was a celebration party for Busted’s recent number 1 with ‘Crashed The Wedding’. Rosie was going with Matt, Cait was going with James and Rosie said that I had to come so I could give her moral support around James. I reluctantly agreed. Rosie, Cait and I went shopping for outfits. We went into top shop. I found a black dress, it was really pretty. It had lacy straps and it was backless. It had a small slit and was really glamorous. Rosie found a gorgeous blue strap top with a low front and some skinny jeans. Cait found a grey pinstriped dress and she looked stunning. We went back to Matthew’s flat. We got dressed and did our make up.
KNOCK
I answered the door to see Matt and James.
"Jess, you look fit," Matt smiled.
"Thanks," I blushed, "Come in." It was so weird looking at two guys who were both in love with Rosie. I looked at Matt and he was wearing a grey pinstriped suit…similar to Cait’s dress and James wearing a blue jacket and ¾ length jeans matching to Rosie. I laughed inwardly.
"They’re just coming," I smiled. They nodded and stared in anticipation at the bathroom door. Cait came out first and Matt’s eyes bulged out of the sockets. She looked so fit. James wasn’t taking any notice, apart from trying to see past Cait to Rosie. Rosie came out after Cait, James’ mouth dropped and he just stared.
"You look well fit Rosie," Matt smiled whilst still glancing back to Cait. We all left, me the loner as usual. We got to the party and walked in. Everyone turned to look. I saw Charlie’s hair over everyone else; I stared at the floor and walked over to the bar. I slid onto a bar stool and asked for a coke. I sipped on it as I surveyed the people there. There was a vast mixture. James was showing Cait to his friends, Matt showing Rosie to his and as I scanned my eyes fell upon Charlie. He had his arm around a short brown haired girl. She was quite pretty, I suppose. She was giggling and flirting with Charlie’s friends. Evil bitch! Charlie looked across to the bar and we both looked away. I fiddled with the straw in my drink and stared down.
"Hi," a guy sat down in the chair next to me.
"Hi," I blushed.
"Who are you here with?"
"James and Matt," I nodded.
"Both of them?" he raised his eyebrows.
"Oh right, I’m not here WITH anyone."
"So you’re single?"
"Yeah," I nodded whilst looking to the side of his head to see an angry looking Charlie. I could tell from this guy’s accent that he was a friend of Charlie’s.
"So Charlie tells me that you’re a pole dancer?"
"Um yeah," I smiled.
"Cool, I work for a clothes range."
"Doing what?"
"Designing," he nodded.
"What clothes range?"
"Calvin Klein."
"You’re kidding?"
"No," he smiled and some music started playing, "Would you like to dance?"
"Sure," I smiled. We squeezed into the cramped dance floor between Rosie and Matt and Cait and James. James kept staring longingly at Rosie, Rosie to James and Matt to Cait. Cait was just looking around the room.
"How did you meet they guys," Dan, as I discovered he was called, asked me.
"They found me lying in a field after a car accident, you?"
"Wow," he smiled, "I’m a friend of Charlie’s from school."
"Cool," I smiled.
"Do you like Charlie?"
"Um," I thought, "Yeah."
"He’s a bit of dick sometimes," he smiled.
"Yeah," I grinned. We didn’t talk for the rest of the song and I leant in on him.
"Want a proper drink?" he asked me when the song ended.
"Um… no thanks," I blushed.
"Go on."
"No thanks."
"GO ON," he growled.
"No thank you," I frowned, "I’m going to talk to Rosie." I walked over to her.
"Rosie," I smiled, she was sitting on a sofa. I looked at where her gaze was, she was intently staring at James.
"ROSIE!" I screamed.
"Sorry," she blushed, "What is it?"
"How are you?"
"Alright, Matt and Cait are getting a drink together."
"Are you ok with that?"
"Yeah, I’m just watching James."
"I can see that."
"Who were you dancing with?"
"Dan."
"Dan?"
"Charlie’s friend," I smiled.
"Jess," Rosie frowned.
"What?" I blushed.
"Jess, here," Dan handed me a cup of coke looking stuff.
"Thanks," I smiled and sipped it slowly.
"Rosie, what are you staring at?" Dan asked looking in the direction; James was the only one sitting there now.
"Um…the walls," Rosie shrugged.
"Ok," Dan laughed, "Come dance Jess."
"Ok," I smiled, "See you later." I took his hand, downed my drink and ran onto the dance floor with him. A slower song came on as soon as we put our arms around each other. I smiled at him and he leant in. We kissed lightly and suddenly I felt all high and kissed him really passionately. His hands were all over me and I straddled him.
Rosie…
James looked over to her, their eyes locked and Rosie’s stomach flipped. James’ lips slid into a shy side smile. Matt came over and sat down next to Rosie.
"Rosie we need to talk babe."
"Ok," she nodded and left the room with Matt. They went out to the car park and sat on the bonnet of Charlie’s Porsche.
"Rosie," he bit his lip.
"What is it?"
"I kind of like Cait."
"Cait?" she nodded.
"Yeah, so, I’m breaking up with you."
"That lasted long," Rosie laughed.
"Sorry," he blushed.
"Its fine," Rosie nodded. They walked back into the party together and Matt went over to Cait.
"Hi fitness," he smiled.
"Gross," Cait shuddered.
"I hear you and James broke up."
"We were never together," Cait growled and walked away, Matt followed her. Rosie smiled at what she had heard and went to sit on the sofa when she saw Dan and me practically fucking on it. She averted her eyes and slid onto an empty bar stool.
"What can I get you?" the bartender asked. She looked up to see Darius.
"Darius?" she gasped.
"That’s me," he laughed.
"What are you doing here?"
"Celebrating with Busted, I offered to bartend cos they were one short."
"Oh," Rosie blushed, "Can I have water?"
"Sure," he smiled and poured her a glass.
"So who have you got your eye on?" Darius smiled whilst at James who had slid into the stool next to Rosie unnoticed.
"There’s a girl," James smiled.
"Oh yeah which one? There’s hundreds!" Darius asked intrigued.
"Ok, she’s got blonde hair," he started.
"Yeah," Darius nodded.
"She’s wearing blue."
"Yep," Darius scanned the room.
"And she’s absolutely stunning, the most beautiful girl here."
"Wow," Darius nodded, "Well there’s only one that matches your description, do you think she likes you?"
"No, she has a boyfriend."
"Oh, well she’s blushing to hear you talk about her."
"She is?" James smiled.
"Yeah, aren’t you darling?" Darius turned to Rosie.
"Sorry, what did you say?" Rosie tried to pretend as if she hadn’t been listening. Darius and James laughed. Before Rosie had the opportunity to run away, she heard a huge shouting match.
"You slut," Charlie screamed.
"What?" I gasped, the whole room was blurry.
"Come with me," he grabbed my arm, "Cammylou, I’ll be back in a minute."
"Ok bye Farleykins." He took me to the car park and we got into his Porsche.
"I thought I meant something to you," he growled.
"You do."
"What about Dan?"
"Huh?" I started to swing around.
"Jess, what on earth is wrong with you?"
"Huh?" I swung more violently.
"What did you drink?"
"I didn’t drink anything."
"Dan," he growled.
"Huh?"
"I swore I saw him pour something into your drink, come on, I’m taking you home."
"WHAT ABOUT CAMMYLOU?" I screamed.
"She’ll be fine," he laughed at my screaming and drove me home. We got back to the flat and we were standing outside the door.
"Key," he nodded.
"Huh?" I giggled and pointed down my top.
"What?"
"Key down there cos I had no pockets," I explained.
"Get it then," he laughed.
"Nope, you want key, you get key."
"Jess," he blushed.
"No key then."
"Fine," he was bright red and he slid his hand down my dress.
"I can’t find it," he frowned.
"Keep looking." He moved his hand around frantically.
"It’s not there."
"Nope," I giggled and took my hand from behind my back.
"Here it is," I opened my hand.
"Jess," he laughed and I unlocked the door. Everything had stopped being blurry as I led Charlie into my lounge.
"Sit," I smiled.
"I better get back to the party actually, are you gonna be ok?"
"Yeah," I nodded, "Maybe a little cold."
"How come?" he asked worriedly? I slid my dress straps off my shoulders and slid my dress off. His knees weakened and he fell back onto the sofa.
"Although," I smiled, "Pole dancing might warm me up."
"What?" he gasped. I ran over to the stereo in my pink and black lacy underwear and stiletto heels. I smiled when I heard the music; it was Peggy Lee – You Give Me Fever. I started to pole dance, I remembered watching The White Stripes video with Kate Moss in it and I copied all her moves. Charlie’s eyes didn’t leave me the whole time. The song ended and I was slightly sweaty. Charlie stood up.
"Leaving?" I sighed.
"Are you kidding me?" he asked. He ran over, picked me up and we started kissing really passionately and he carried me to my bedroom.
At the party...
"Hey Cait, how about you come back to my place?" Matt smiled.
"Um," Cait smiled, "NO!"
"Go on," Matt smiled.
"NO, leave me alone, Rosie can we go?"
"Sure," Rosie nodded.
"She so wants me," Matt smiled at James.
"Yeah, course she does mateage."
"Cait, you can sit up front," Matt smiled.
"Do I have to?" she moaned.
"You first," James smiled to Rosie. Rosie smiled at how cute he was and clambered into the back, unaware that James had only let her go first so that he could watch her ass as she clambered over the seats. James quickly got in and Cait sat in the front. James spent the whole journey staring at Rosie. Rosie, sensing that James was staring at her, stared as sexily as she could out of the window. They got home and Cait ran into the flat, Matt followed. Rosie walked slowly and James walked next to her, occasionally brushing his fingers against her hand. They walked into the flat and Matt was sitting on the sofa.
"Rosie," Matt called out.
"Yeah?" she sighed.
"Can I stay over?"
"What?" Rosie gasped.
"I mean on the sofa!" he laughed.
"Oh," she smiled, "Sure, there’s some spare blankets in Cait’s room." Matt jumped at the opportunity to go into Cait’s room.
"I’d better go then," James turned towards the door.
"No!" Rosie gasped. James smiled and then turned around.
"There’s nowhere for me to stay."
"Um… sure there is…Jess’ room."
"What?"
"Yeah come on, it’ll be fine," she grabbed his hand. She tingled inside but dragged him to my room. James smiled to himself, she was touching him. Rosie opened my door to see Charlie and me fucking.
"Oh my god," she slammed the door.
"Don’t think I want to sleep in there thanks," James smiled cutely. Rosie still hadn’t let go of his hand.
"Um so yeah, I’ll go back to my flat."
"Ok," Rosie sighed.
"Thanks for coming to the party," he leant down and kissed her softly on the cheek and left the flat. Rosie sighed and fell back down onto her bed as Matt was leaving Cait’s room with some blankets.
"Where’s your flat?" Rosie called out to Matt.
"About five minutes away from here."
"By car?" she asked.
"Nope, five minute walk."
"Ok… where abouts?"
"You know that new block that was recently built?"
"Oh yeah," Rosie nodded.
"We’re on the top floor!" he smiled.
"Cool, what number?"
"Why?" Matt frowned.
"Just wondering," Rosie blushed.
"135," he answered. With that, Rosie was up. She changed into a silk black nighty, wrapped one of Matthew’s rain coats around her, as it was raining, and walked to the front door.
"Where are you going at this time of night babe?"
"Out, see you tomorrow," she called back to Matt. Matt frowned, shrugged and closed his eyes.
She walked along the pavement, her heels clip clopping in the newly formed puddles. Rain was pouring down and she was getting soaked. She looked up after what seemed ages to see the new block of flats. She opened the door to the building and searched for the lift. There wasn’t one. She trailed up the endless stairs until she reached the top floor. She scanned each door she went past, rain dripping off her. She found 135.
"What am I doing here?" Rosie asked her self, "I shouldn’t be here, go back home." She turned to leave when her ankle gave way and she fell into the door, causing a huge thud. She heard some running and she tried to run away but her ankle hurt. The door opened to reveal James in boxers, with his toothbrush hanging out of his mouth. He put the toothbrush down on the table and looked in amazement at Rosie. She looked so pretty. Her hair was wavy because of the rain and her eyes were bright and her cheeks flushed.
"Rosie," he smiled.
"Um, hi," she blushed.
"Come in." She tried to go in but her ankle was so bad that she had to hobble. "Are you ok?"
"Um…I’ve hurt my ankle."
"I think we have some ice, you sit down." She sat down on the sofa and he went to get her some ice, collecting his toothbrush on the way. He returned minutes later holding a bag of ice.
"This might be cold," he frowned, "I’m such a dick; of course it will be cold." Rosie giggled as James slid her shoes off. He slid the ice on.
"COLD!" she screamed. He smiled and wrapped a tea towel around her ankle and the ice to hold it in place.
"What are you doing here?" he asked, smiling.
"Um… I didn’t want you to be alone…"
"I’m a big boy you know, I can take care of myself," he grinned.
"I know…" she blushed, "It was a kind of spur of the moment thing."
"Well I’m not complaining," he bit his lip as Rosie removed her rain coat.
"That’s better," Rosie smiled as she shook her hair off. James’ mouth was wide open and his eyes were opened as wide as they could.
"Y-you were wearing that in the rain?"
"Yep, it was fucking freezing," she giggled as she played with the straps on the nighty.
"W-why did you wear that?"
"Cos," she smiled, "I thought we could have a sleepover."
"S-sleepover?" he breathed deeply.
"Yeah, actually, my ankles alright now," Rosie smiled as she rotated her ankle. "I must have just put it out or something." James just stared at her.
"Could you take it of for me?" Rosie smiled. James tried to say yes but he was too taken back by Rosie so he just nodded. He undid the tea towel and took the ice pack.
"Are you going to take that back to the kitchen?" Rosie giggled at James who was still staring at her body.
"Um… yeah," he nodded but didn’t move.
"I’ll take it," she smiled, stood up agonisingly slowly and took the ice from him. She skipped off the kitchen and put it in their empty freezer. She stayed in there for a few minutes surveying. James came and stood in the doorway and stared at her.
"Are you just going to stare at me all night?"
"Sorry," he blushed and stared at the floor.
"What do you want to do?" she asked. James thought to himself,
"Throw you down onto that table and do things you’ve never even dreamed of." "Um…watch T.V?" he suggested.
"Ok," Rosie smiled and walked through the door, pushing herself up against James as she walked through. James tingled and Rosie could see the goose bumps over his body. She sat down on the sofa with one leg up and the other dangling over the edge. She turned the T.V. and scanned through the channels.
"Do you have any movies?" she called out.
"Um…" he walked over the movie rack, porn, porn, porn. "Not really."
"Let me see," Rosie danced over to see, "Oh nice," she smiled at the collection.
"They’re not mine; they’re Matt’s and Charlie’s."
"Of course they are," Rosie nodded, "Ooh how about this?"
"The Italian Job?" he smiled.
"YEAH," she grinned.
"You like minis?"
"I LOVE them!"
"Ok," he nodded and they walked over to the sofa together. James went to put the video in and he bent over.
"Nice ass," Rosie shouted. James turned around and blushed at the fact that Rosie was staring. He put the tape in and walked over to the sofa. He sat at the other end of it.
"I don’t bite," Rosie smiled.
"Um… I’ll get us some popcorn," James jumped up.
"And a blanket…?" Rosie asked.
"A blanket…?" James gasped.
"Yeah, it’s a bit cold."
"Oh ok," James nodded.
Matt and Cait…
"Cait let me in."
"Matt go to sleep."
"Can’t I talk to you?"
"Talk through the door."
"Fine," Matt growled.
"I can’t promise I’ll listen though."
"Ok… Cait, I really like you… a lot."
SILENCE
"And I think about you all the time."
SILENCE
"I just wish you’d consider dating me."
"Fdisf," Cait mumbled.
"What?" Matt sat upright.
"Fine," she screamed.
"You will?"
"One date," she named her conditions.
"Great."
"No eating involved."
"Ok," Matt nodded.
"Now go to sleep."
"Alright," he grinned and ran to the sofa.
Charlie and me…
"I can’t believe I’ve done it again," Charlie sighed as he stroked my hand, "Or done you should I say?"
"I know," I bit my lip, "I hated you after you left last time."
"I know… the note was really rude…but Camilla had called me and I had to hurry…"
"Yeah, I figured."
"Can we talk?"
"Sure."
"It’s just I really liked you since I first met you and we were good friends but lately we just fuck."
"I know," I nodded.
"Ok…why don’t we go on a date?"
"Are you kidding me?"
"Not at all," he smiled.
"Alright then," I nodded.
"I’ll take you to a favourite restaurant of mine."
"Cool."
"Tomorrow night at 7," he nodded.
"Ok."
"I’m kind of tired," he smiled.
"Same." He laid his head on my tummy and closed his eyes. I fell asleep soon after.
Rosie and James…
"Got the popcorn and blanket," James smiled and walked into the lounge where he saw Rosie asleep. He smiled adoringly and lay the blanket down over her. He kissed her on the forehead, turned the T.V. off and went to bed.
Rosie…
“I’m going to have a shower,” Rosie nodded.
“Ok,” James nodded and watched her walk to the shower. He hated to admit it, but he was in love with Rosie. Rosie had a quick shower and looked around for the towel that James had put out for her. There was only one towel and it seemed extremely small. She shrugged, wrapped it around her and walked back into the lounge. James was sitting on the sofa talking on the phone.
“Yeah, I have to go, love you,” he hung up. Those words rang in Rosie’s mind… who was on the other end.
“Who was that?” she growled, realising how jealous she must have sounded, she smiled.
“Mum,” he smiled.
“He is so adorable,” Rosie smiled to her self.
“I was thinking of going to see the guys if that’s ok with you?”
“Sure, I don’t have any clothes to get changed into though.”
“Oh um, you can borrow some of mine,” he smiled to himself.
“Ok,” she nodded and went with him to his room. She looked around, it was a typical guy’s room. White walls, blue bed. He opened his wardrobe and took out some trousers.
“These are my smallest pair,” he handed them to her. She slid them on and they were still baggy.
“You’re so thin,” he smiled at her body. She blushed and looked around the room.
“Um this top should fit,” he took out a girl’s top. She looked at it evilly. She slid it on and it was a really short on her.
“Um who’s is this?” she asked.
“Mel’s,” he blushed.
“Aw,” she grinned, “It’s a bit small.” She tried pulling it down to make it longer.
“No it’s not,” he thought to himself and stared longingly at her. “Let’s go then.” Rosie nodded, and left their flat with James. They were walking down the pavement, James still innocently brushing Rosie’s hand with his fingers.
“Fuck this,” Rosie thought to herself and she slid her hand into his. He looked at her smiling and she carried on walking, trying really hard to contain a smile. They reached our flat and Rosie unlocked the door.
“Matt! Stop perving!” Cait screamed and slammed her bedroom door. Rosie laughed as she shut the door behind her and James.
“Morning you two,” I smiled raising my eyebrows at their hands. They immediately let go and walked into the lounge separated.
“Matt what were you doing?” I asked as I reappeared from my bedroom.
“Nothing,” he shrugged.
“HE WAS FUCKING STARING AT ME IN MY UNDERWEAR!” Cait shouted through the door.
“I wasn’t, you were in the kitchen, I went in there, I can’t help it if you were in your underwear,” Matt retaliated.
“Well you didn’t have to stare.”
“Oh come on, you looked fucking amazing, I’m not going to pass up that opportunity.”
“Shut up Matt,” I shivered that he was talking about my sister like that.
“I’m going to have a shower,” Matt growled and stormed into the bathroom.
“I’m thirsty,” I walked into the kitchen.
“I’m not,” Charlie smiled but still followed me into the kitchen. Rosie turned to look at James who was already staring at her.
“Rosie,” he started.
“James,” she nodded. They walked towards each other. James slid his hand onto her waist. Rosie leant up, they were both breathing heavily, their hearts pounding. They closed their eyes.
"Hmmm hmm," I fake coughed as I came back into the room. Rosie dug her nails deep into James’ waist.
"Ow!" James jumped back.
"Sorry," she blushed, "Just angry." She shot me the evillest stare.
"Nice top Rosie," Charlie nodded, I hit him the stomach.
"Sorry," he bit his lip and looked at me. It was so funny, Charlie and I were trying to hide our relationship and so were Rosie and James.
"Jess, why do you care if Charlie likes Rosie’s top?" James raised his eyebrows.
"Cos I fancy her," I smiled at the whole room staring at me, I giggled and ran off to my room. Charlie looked to my door painfully wanting to follow me, then back to Rosie and James who were staring.
"Just go," James laughed.
"Thank you!" Charlie smiled and ran to my room.
"Finally alone," James smiled and leant back down to Rosie when Matt came out of the bathroom.
"Nope, there’s nothing in your eye," James smiled and leant back.
"Has Cait come out of her bedroom yet?" Matt asked them.
"No," they said in unison.
"Ok," he nodded.
RING
"I’ll get it," Rosie walked over to the phone and picked it up, "Hello?"
"Hi, its Camilla here, is Charlie there?"
"Um, I’ll go check," she hung up the phone.
"Who is it?" Matt asked.
"Camilla," Rosie bit her lip and walked over to Jess’ room. Judging from the sounds she could hear, Charlie was busy. She picked up the receiver.
"Camilla?"
"Yes."
"Charlie’s … busy at the moment."
"What do you mean "busy"?"
"He can’t get to the phone; do you want me to tell him that you called?"
"I’d like you to tell me what he is doing."
"Um…I have to go, I’ll tell him you called, bye," Rosie hung up.
"Ooh I bet she’s annoyed now," Matt laughed.
"Charlie’s in for it now," James sighed.
"What? Why?" Rosie asked.
"Camilla’s really strict with him, she has to know what he’s doing at all times," James explained
"What a bitch," Rosie growled.
"Who’s a bitch?" Cait asked as she walked into the lounge with some low slung jeans on and a blue shirt.
"Not you," Matt grinned and followed her into the kitchen. Charlie and I came out of my room smiling.
"Camilla rang," Rosie told Charlie whilst he was fiddling with the straps on my top.
"What?" he gasped.
"She rang."
"Oh um, I’ve got to go Jess, bye," he ran out of the flat. I rolled my eyes and flopped back onto the sofa. Rosie and James stared longingly at each other.
"Rosie," I moaned.
"Yeah?" she answered.
"Can we talk?"
"Sure," she nodded, "Later though, James is taking me to the movies."
"Oh ok," I smiled. Her and James left and I sat alone in the lounge contemplating whether or not I should go on the date.
"Matt," Cait growled and ran over to the sofa.
"Save me Jess," she sighed.
"Cait, I’ll see you tonight," Matt grinned.
"Yeah, bye," Cait growled. Matt left the flat and Cait and I had a good chat.
6 p.m.
"That was a really good movie," Rosie smiled at James.
"Glad you liked it," he smiled. They were standing on the pavement outside of the cinema. James stroked Rosie’s arm softly and leant down.
"OI BITCH!" a voice boomed. Rosie swivelled around to see Chris.
"Oh my god, James," she cried. James took her hand and they ran together they were outside the flats. They ran into the building, Chris still chasing them. They got into the flat quickly and Rosie locked the door. Chris stood outside banging on the door.
"LET ME IN!" he shouted.
"Rosie, its ok, its ok," James stroked her hair and the banging eventually stopped and Rosie stopped crying.
"I’m not leaving this flat," James smiled, "I’m staying here with you overnight."
"I’ll be ok," Rosie nodded.
"No way, I’m not leaving you on your own," he stroked her hand. They smiled.
KNOCK
"Oh my god," Rosie screamed.
"Cait, it’s me Matt," Matt talked through the door. James warily unlocked the door and saw that there was no one in the hallway. He let Matt in and called for Cait. Cait came into the lounge in a flowing pink dress, looking stunning.
"Cait," he gasped.
"Let’s just go," she frowned Matt nodded and turned towards the door, Cait secretly checking him out the whole way out. Rosie and James smiled and sat down onto the sofa. I came out of my room in a beautiful beige dress with stars lightly imprinted onto it.
"See you guys later," I raised my eyebrows.
"Jess, where are you going?" Rosie gasped.
"On a date," I smiled.
"Where’s Charlie?"
"I’m meeting him there."
"Jess, Chris just chased me all the way here."
"I’ll be fine, plus I have my mobile," I smiled.
"I don’t know," Rosie shook her head.
"Bye!" I laughed and left the flat.
I walked down the millions of stairs and walked for ages to this restaurant of Charlie’s. A thirty minute walk! I stood outside of this fancy restaurant waiting for Charlie. Twenty minutes passed. I went inside and to the reservations desk.
"Hi," I smiled.
"Hello, how may I help you?" the man asked.
"Yes, Charlie Simpson made a reservation for two at seven."
"Yes that’s correct."
"Has he arrived yet?"
"No, sorry," he smiled.
"Ok, thanks," I frowned and went and stood out front again. It started raining so I got my phone out and rang Charlie.
RING
"Hello?" a girl’s voice answered.
"Hi who is this?" I asked.
"Camilla, who are you?" Camilla growled at me.
"No one," I hung up. I got up to walk back home.
"Leaving so soon?" a voice whispered.
"Charlie!" I swivelled around to see a man wearing a balaclava.
"What?" I screamed, he covered my mouth with his hand and walked me away. Tears were streaming down my face, no one was around. We ended up in an abandoned warehouse. There was a wooden chair in the middle of it. He shoved me into it and took out a thick rope. He tied it around me hundreds of times. I closed my eyes and breathed deeply.
"Ok, Jess," the person growled.
"What?" I managed to say through the tears.
"You were lucky to survive."
"Chris? Is that you?"
"Who’s the clever one?"
"Why do you want to kill me?"
"I think you know why."
"I honestly don’t."
"Then you’re really foolish."
"Fine," I rolled my eyes. He dragged a large trunk over to the chair and opened it. Hundreds of sharp knives, all shapes and sizes glinted under the lights.
"Chris," I whimpered.
"I’m being nice," he smiled.
"THANK YOU!"
"Which knife do you want me to kill you with?" he smiled evilly.
"Um," I scanned the trunk but it became increasingly harder as my tears blurred my vision.
Cait and Matt…
"What are we going to do?" Cait frowned.
"You’ll see," he smiled as they walked up continuous stairs.
"Kill me by exercise?" she teased.
"Nope," he laughed and they reached the top.
BRISTOL ICE SKATING RINK
"You’ve got to be kidding?"
"No, I love ice skating!" he smiled.
"I hate it and look what I’m wearing."
"Perfect."
"MATT!!"
Rosie and James…
"Rosie," James smiled at Rosie. She had been carefully avoiding him for the whole hour.
"Yeah?" she called out from her bedroom.
"Can I talk to you?"
"Um…sure, come in here." James grinned at the prospect of going in to her room and walked in eagerly. She was sitting on her bed. He sat down next to her on the end and looked at her.
"I love you," he started, Rosie gasped and looked to him, "BUT!" he cried, "Before you start telling me that we can’t be together or something along those lines. I want to say that I love you; I’ve loved you since I saw you lying in that field. I loved you when you were with Matt…" his voice trailed off.
"James," she frowned.
Me…
"Decided yet?" he growled.
"No," I shook my head.
"If you don’t decide, I’ll decide for you."
"Ok, ok," I nodded. He switched the lights off and everything was pitch black and he started laughing evilly.
"Stab you?" he laughed. "Or slice you open? Or throw the knives at you?"
"Stop it," I screamed, "HELP!"
"There’s no one around for miles, we’re all alone." He was walking around loudly, the rain got harder on the glass roof. His feet banging on the ground, the rain clanking on the metal…I started crying more. I couldn’t see anything, it was all dark. He placed his fingers lightly on my shoulder. He stroked my hair.
"Get off me!"
"There, there, no need to be so feisty."
"Leave me alone."
"Why would I do that?"
"GET OFF ME YOU FREAK!"
"No need for name calling…it makes me mad," he picked up the largest knife in the trunk.
"Sorry, you’re not a freak, at all…" I started to realise why he wanted to kill me.
"That’s not what you think."
"It is… I’m the freak…"
"That’s true," he slid the flat side of the knife along my neck. I gulped deeply.
"I want to see you sweat," he laughed.
Cait and Matt…
"Matt help me!" Cait screamed as she was
"I’m coming darlin," he laughed and ran over. He steadied her by wrapping his arm tightly around her waist. They skated around and around together Cait kissed him in the middle of the rink. Matt wrapped both arms around her and went in for a more passionate kiss. Cait smiled and they kissed passionately spinning around on the ice.
Rosie and James…
"I love you too… so much… I loved you since you rescued me too," she smiled.
"You do?" his whole face lit up.
"Yeah," she nodded, "Isn’t it obvious?"
"I don’t know," James blushed and leant in. He swept Rosie’s hair off her face and his lips brushed against her quickly. Rosie tingled and she reluctantly opened her eyes.
"I didn’t want to go too fast, I want to make this time together last," James smiled.
"It was nice," Rosie nodded.
Me…
"What’s your boyfriend called?"
"I don’t have a boyfriend," I squirmed in the chair.
"DON’T LIE TO ME; YOU WERE GOING ON A DATE WITH HIM."
"Oh… Charlie," I had to smile when I said his name. He took my phone out of my bag, and I smiled more because I didn’t actually have Charlie’s number. He was ringing someone; he put the knife up to my neck.
"Hi Rosie?" he smiled.
"Hi?" Rosie frowned because he had interrupted a more passionate kiss between her and James.
"It’s Charlie."
"Charlie who?" she growled. Chris covered the mouthpiece.
"What’s his surname?" he growled at me.
"Simpson," I sighed and he uncovered the mouthpiece.
"Sorry, got distracted by Jess," he laughed fakely, "Simpson."
"Oh um you sound strange."
"Do I?"
"Yeah," she nodded and he laughed.
"Hey, Jess wants to see you, come to the abandoned warehouse two miles away from The Crystal Plaza.
"Ok," Rosie frowned.
"Come alone."
"Ok…"
"See you soon."
"Bye," Rosie hung up.
"I’ve got to go," Rosie smiled at James.
"What? Where? I’m coming," James nodded.
"I need to do this on my own, I’ll be back in a little while," she kissed him lightly on the lips, James kissed her back strongly. He bit down softly on her bottom lip as they parted.
"Bye," she sighed at his sweet face.
"Bye," he waved grinning and flopped back happily onto the bed. Rosie ran out of the flat and ran the whole way to the warehouse grinning. She opened the door and walked through.
"Nice to see you Rosie," Chris grabbed her arm.
"Oh my god," she screamed as he dragged her into the warehouse. She saw me there strapped to the chair. She smiled at me and before he got a metre further she flipped over, twisting his arm until she heard it snap. He fell to the floor crying.
"Stay the hell away from us," she screamed before standing on him where it hurts in her stiletto heels. She ran over to me, untied me and we ran out of there.
"Bye psycho," I smiled. He was crying hysterically and holding his arm.
We walked back home, arms around each other, smiling. We got back to the flat and opened the door. The whole flat was pitch black.
"JAMES!" Rosie screamed. We opened the door to the lounge and there were candles all over it. Petals scattered everywhere. He walked around the corner in a suave black suit, smiling a sexy smile. I blushed.
"Have a good night babes," I kissed her cheek and ran to my room. James beckoned her with his finger. She walked slowly towards him; he licked his lips as she swung her hips slightly.
"Come see," he whispered in her ear. She tingled and followed him to her room. Her bed had silk sheets, and candles all around it. There was a bottle of champagne and a bowl of chocolates.
"James," she gasped. He smiled, embarrassed, his dimples shining.
"I wanted to make you feel special," he smiled and walked towards her. He slid one hand around her and used the other to stroke her face. He leant in and kissed her softly.
"Come here now," she smiled softly and kissed him passionately.
Cait and Matt…
"Almost there," Matt nodded at Cait who was giggling madly. He opened the door to their flat and chucked the keys on the table. He picked her up and carried her to his room.
"Nice room," she raised her eyebrows, surveying the posters of girls.
"They’re nothing next to you," he grinned cheekily.
"Bluh," Cait faked throwing up. Matt laughed at the cutely sarcastic girl in his arms. He kissed her on the cheek. He laid her down on his bed.
"And what are you doing?"
"What do ya think baby?"
"Not what you think," she growled and stood up.
"Cait," he moaned.
"We’ve had one date, I wouldn’t even do that with Justin… ok maybe Justin but that’s beside the point."
"CAIT!" he sighed.
"I’ll crash on the sofa, see you in the morning," she slapped his non-existent ass and walked out of his room. He growled but stopped as he watched how sexy she was walking to that sofa.
Me…
I slid my duvet over me and stared at the ceiling thinking about Charlie, trying to block out the giggling from Rosie’s room.
RING
I picked up my phone. Random number calling.
"Hello?"
BREATHING
"Hello?"
BREATHING I had my finger over the hang up button.
"Jess?" a deep voice sighed.
"Charlie?"
"Yeah it’s me."
"Hi," I frowned.
"I’m so sorry."
"Why?"
"For standing you up… I was really looking forward to it."
"Me too, it’s ok though."
"No it’s not…Camilla stole my phone… she suspects me…"
"You haven’t done anything!"
"I slept with you twice."
"Oh yeah," I smiled.
"How are you talking to me then?"
"I snuck into her room and took it."
"Where is she?"
"Having a bath," he sighed, he didn’t seem happy to imagine her there.
"Oh ok," I sighed, "I’m such a loner."
"I’m really sorry."
"No not then…Rosie and James are in Rosie’s room. Cait’s staying over at Matt’s flat…you’re with Camilla."
"I don’t want to be!" he cried. I was taken aback by this and I think he was to.
"Sure you do," I bit my lip.
"Um yeah," he nodded, "Carry on talking."
"Ok," I smiled, "Yeah so I’m alone here in this bed."
"Jess," he sighed happily.
"Um… yeah," I blushed, "And I’m all cold cos I’ve only got underwear on… and…"
"Oh god," he purred, "I have to go Mum, talk to you soon."
"CHARLES WHERE DID YOU FIND THAT?" I heard Camilla scream and then he hung up. I rolled my eyes and snuggled up further under the duvet. I really was cold!
A few days later…
"Rosie," I shouted, starting to get annoyed, it was the fifth time James had rung in one hour and yet Rosie hadn’t thought to answer the phone. Rosie giggled and ran over to the phone.
"Hello?" she smiled goofily.
"Hi sexy," he smiled.
"James! This is the fifth time! I’m going to see you in a minute."
"I know, I’m outside the door." Rosie ran over to the door and unlocked it. James burst through, picked her up and spun her around.
"James!" she gasped, "Put me down!" They kissed quickly.
"Jess are you coming to the park?" Rosie asked me.
"No, thanks," I sighed.
"Come on, you haven’t left the house for days," Rosie sighed worriedly.
"What’s the point?" I growled.
"What’s up with her?" James whispered in Rosie’s ear.
"Charlie hasn’t spoken to her for days," Rosie whispered back.
"Look if you guys are going to whisper about me, whisper about me on the way to the park."
"Charlie’s going to be there," James muttered.
"What?" I jumped up.
"Charlie’s coming."
"Seriously…?" I gasped.
"Yep," he nodded.
"Well… I have nothing better to do… I suppose I could come…" I ran off to my room to change. I slid on a mini skirt and cut off pink fleece, to hell with the fact that it was bitterly cold outside. We walked to the park. James continually kissing Rosie’s cheek! We got there and Charlie, Camilla, Matt and Cait were sitting on a blanket.
"Hey guys," Matt smiled. We sat down.
"Aren’t you cold?" Charlie stared at me longingly.
"Not really," I lay down; the wind kept blowing my skirt up.
"I can see your knickers," Matt laughed.
"Oopsy," I giggled and slid it down. Cait and Matt were kissing loads. James and Rosie were hugging and whispering to each other. I looked over to Charlie and Camilla.
"Charles, kiss me," Camilla smiled.
"It’s too cold, my lips are all dry," Charlie frowned whilst staring at me.
"Come on Charles, I’m cold, warm me up."
"No," Charlie growled, "I don’t want to."
"What’s wrong with you?" she growled.
"Sorry what did you say?" Charlie frowned whilst watching me lifting my top up playfully.
"What is wrong with you today?" she shouted.
"Nothing," he frowned.
"I’m going for a walk," I told the group, Rosie and James nodded slightly but carried on whispering and kissing, Matt and Cait didn’t even pull apart and Charlie looked annoyed.
"Don’t go for a walk, stay here," he moaned in his head.
"If you’re going, go," Camilla shouted. I rolled my eyes and walked over to the food stall where a fit guy was working.
"Camilla that was so rude," Charlie frowned at Camilla.
"What? She’s a slut, and I swear she was passing you really dirty looks."
"Shut up, she doesn’t care about me."
"Did you just tell me to shut up Charles?"
"Yeah… sorry," he sighed and kissed her grudgingly.
"Hi, what can I get you?" the guy at the till smiled.
"In there, it’s freezing out here!" I smiled.
"Come on in," he opened the door. I walked around the side and went through the door. I looked around and then went over to the window. I peered out to see Charlie staring at me hurtfully.
"You going to return the favour then?" the guy asked. I turned around to see him standing there with his trousers down.
"What? NO!" I screamed. He slid down a curtain saying closed on, "I said no."
"What’s going on over there? Where’s Jess?" Charlie asked Camilla.
"I don’t know, forget her, she’s probably fucking that guy like the slut she is."
"She wouldn’t."
"Yeah right," she laughed.
"I’m going to see if she’s ok," Charlie ran over to the door.
"Come on," the guy slid my skirt down.
"Get off me," I started screaming. Charlie opened the door, he saw what was happening.
"Oh my god," Charlie tried to say realistically, "How could you say that to me?"
"What?" the guy asked confused. Charlie ran off.
"What is it Charles?" Camilla called out.
"I need to be left alone," he called back to her. I watched where he went and left the hut after kneeing the twat where it hurts. I walked back to the blanket.
"I’m going home," I frowned.
"Are you ok?" Rosie asked.
"Yeah, fine, just bored," I sighed and walked off in the direction that Charlie had gone. I walked for ages, looking around.
"Pssst," someone whispered. I looked to the left to see Charlie hiding behind a bush.
"Charlie," I smiled, it was the first time we’d been alone, talking face to face for nearly a week. He hugged me tightly.
"Are you ok?" he zipped my skirt back up to the top.
"I’ll be fine," I sighed. He slid his hands all over me.
"What are you doing?" I laughed.
"Staring at you just sitting there, I was dying to touch you…"
"Really?" I blushed.
"Oh yeah," he nodded and closed his eyes whilst touching me. I leant in and kissed him.
"Jess," he started crying.
"Oh my god, what is it?"
"I … want you so much… touching you… is becoming too much… when you kissed me just now…" he trailed off. I pushed him onto the grass and got on top of him. "Jess!" he cried out, in pain I first thought but it was pleasure. He leant up and kissed me. We were kissing loads.
"We can’t do this here," I shook my head.
"I agree," he nodded, I slid off him and he wrapped his arms around me as we lay there. We chatted for hours.
"I’m surprised Camilla hasn’t sent out a search party by now," I laughed and stared at the stars.
"She’s not that bad," Charlie sighed.
"CHARLIE? CHARLIE?" I heard loads of voices call.
"Oh really?" I raised my eyebrows, "Don’t worry I’ll go before they find you." I kissed him lightly and ran through the park as quickly as I could.
"Camilla this is stupid," Matt moaned.
"Shut up Matt," Camilla growled.
"He’ll have gone home by now," James agreed.
"He wouldn’t leave me," Camilla screamed.
"I would," Rosie whispered to James. They laughed.
"We’re going," Matt wrapped his arm around Cait and they walked off.
"Don’t even think about leaving Bourne," Camilla screeched. Rosie slid her arm across James’ stomach and walked through the darkness with him.
"Cam," Charlie stood up and walked over.
"Charles, you had me worried sick," she hugged him tightly, Charlie looked around, bored, "You smell of perfume."
"No I don’t," Charlie shook his head and slid away from her.
"YES YOU DO!" she screeched, "Ghost."
"I don’t, why are you so insecure?" Charlie growled and walked off.
"CHARLES!" Camilla screamed and walked off in the opposite direction.
"God," Rosie sighed.
"Let’s get you home," James smiled and kissed her. They walked back to James’ car to see Charlie standing there.
"Can I get a lift?" Charlie asked.
"We’re going to Rosie’s," James told him.
"I know," Charlie nodded. James smiled and so did Rosie.
At the flat…
I lay on my bed… thinking about Charlie… he was way too good for Camilla… too good for me even…and if he’s cheating on Camilla…that says he can’t be that nice… although he does feel bad… and our chat showed me how much we have in common and how compatible we are…
"Do you think she’ll be here?" I heard Charlie’s voice and I sat upright. I quickly got changed into a baggy tracksuit to see if he still found me attractive. I casually walked into the lounge.
"Jess," Charlie leapt off the sofa, "Can we talk?"
"Sure," I smiled and we walked into the kitchen.
"Rosie," James smiled at her.
"Yeah honey?"
"You’re beautiful…"
"Thanks," Rosie laughed, "I don’t believe you though."
"Why not…?"
"I just don’t…"
"You’re a beautiful woman."
"Woman," Rosie laughed.
"Why is that funny?"
"It’s just funny to be called a woman at sixteen."
"What?" James gasped.
"What?" Rosie frowned.
"What did you just say?"
"It’s just funny to be called a woman at six-" she gasped, "Oh shit."
"You’re sixteen?"
"Yeah…"
"I-I can’t do this," James shook his head and stood up.
"James you said you loved me… you obviously don’t."
"Rosie I do love you … or the Rosie I thought you were."
"If you stop loving someone because of their age then I don’t want to be with you."
"It’s not the fact that you’re sixteen… it’s the fact that you lied to me…right from the very start."
"Ok, I apologise for lying James but tell me this; if I had told you I was sixteen would you have even looked at me twice?"
"Maybe," James frowned, "Probably not, but that was my decision to make, not yours."
"Well sorry," Rosie growled, "Can you leave please?"
"Sure," James nodded and got up to go, "I want my trousers and my top back."
"Fine," Rosie stormed to the bathroom, snatched them out of the laundry basket and threw them at James, "Now get out."
"See, you’re only sixteen, look at what a scene you’re making."
"Fuck off James, you’re being the immature one, NOT me, you’re the one who can’t handle a younger girlfriend so fuck off."
"Oh bring swearing in."
"Whatever your pathetic little mind has to do for you to make this situation better," Rosie screamed.
"I think you should leave now James," I came and stood in the doorway of the kitchen.
"Oh what ever," he growled, "Chaz save yourself whilst you can from these SIXTEEN year olds." With that, James stormed out of the flat. Rosie collapsed onto the floor in hysterical crying.
"You’re sixteen?" Charlie asked.
"Yeah," I nodded.
"To hell with it," he smiled and kissed me.
"I have to look after Rosie and don’t you have Camilla to get back to?"
"Oh fuck yeah, I’ll see you as soon as I can," he kissed me again. We started kissing passionately.
"No," I pulled back.
"Right," he nodded, "I was leaving."
"Bye," I waved. He waved, took one last look and managed to tear himself away. He left and I went and sat down next to Rosie.
"Are you ok?" I stroked her back.
"Yeah," she nodded.
"Do you want me to kick his ass in?"
"No."
"Go on!"
"Nah… you shouldn’t hurt him, his small brain probably wouldn’t understand."
"There’s my girl," I smiled. We hugged and I helped her to bed.
"Now you sleep well," I smiled and shut the door. I walked over to the sofa and sat down. I picked up the receiver.
RING
"HELLO?" a voice shouted.
"James," I sighed.
"Who is this?"
"Jess," I bit my lip. The line went dead.
RING
"Leave me alone," he shouted.
"Can I please talk to you?"
"No."
"James, there’s something you’re hiding…"
"No there’s not."
"This isn’t about Rosie’s age and you know it."
"No, no it isn’t."
"What is it?"
"I put all my trust in Rosie… I’ve never done that before, I made myself vulnerable to her…and she lied to me… she betrayed my trust."
"But think… she saw you… she loved you… she knew that if you knew her age you wouldn’t get together… so she said she was older… you got together…happiness…if she hadn’t lied you’d never have got together."
"Yeah but that means our relationship was built on a lie."
"No it doesn’t James, one lie, one small lie, you mean everything to her. You just shattered her."
"She broke my heart."
"And you did the same to her… call it even."
"I don’t think I can face her now, she probably hates me."
"Make her feel special then."
"How?" he asked.
"I happen to know that she loves stars…"
"So?"
"Think of something," I smiled and hung up. I went to bed. I rock.
RING
"Goddamn phone," I growled, "Hello?"
"I want to feel you."
"Charlie," I laughed.
"That’s me."
"Where’s Camilla?"
"Asleep in the next room," he nodded.
"In the next room?" I asked puzzled.
"I’ve been made to sleep on the sofa cos of today’s disappearing act."
"Oh," I laughed.
"Not that much of a punishment, means unlimited access to porn."
"Charlie, that’s disgusting."
"Not watching it, hearing it."
"What?" I shuddered.
"Phone sex?" he explained.
"Oh right, no."
"No? You’ve lap danced, pole danced, done things I’ve never even heard of and you won’t do phone sex?"
"Yep," I nodded.
"How about cyber sex?" he asked.
"I’d consider it."
"Great…I’ll chat to you online."
"Bye," I frowned and connected to the internet on my laptop.

The next day…
RING
"Jess, it’s for you," Rosie handed it to me.
"Hello?"
"It’s James, do you think you can get Rosie to come out tonight, I want to surprise her… take her to the Starlight Room."
"I suppose so."
"Thanks." I hung up.
"Rosie, we’re going out tonight."
"No we’re not."
"Yeah, to the Starlight Room, my treat," I smiled.
"THE STARLIGHT ROOM?" she squealed.
"Yeah," I nodded.
"Ok, only cos it’s got stars in it," she smiled.
"Rosie, can we talk?"
"Sure."
"I love Charlie."
"You love him?"
"…Yes."
"Jess that’s bad… he’s with Camilla."
"I know, and I tried to stop myself… but the fact that he’s always ringing me and kissing me…"
"I knew that you two were serious…"
"Yeah but…" I bit my lip, "I don’t think he feels the same."
"Why not?" she asked worriedly and stroked my arm.
"Cos… he would have broken up with Camilla by now," I frowned.
"Not necessarily… he’s been with Camilla for years, maybe he’s not sure that you’re serious about him…"
"Maybe," I sighed.
KNOCK
"I’ll get it," Rosie smiled at me; I had flopped down onto the sofa and was hiding my face with a pillow. Rosie opened the door to reveal a shaggy looking Charlie. His eyes were bloodshot, he had stubble and his hair was flat down with no gel.
"Um Jess, it’s for you," Rosie called out and shut the door after Charlie.
"I don’t want to see anyone," I called out but it was muffled through the pillow.
"Just get your ass off the sofa," she laughed and shut her bedroom door. I didn’t move. I heard some walking and then the person stopped right next to the sofa. I slowly slid the pillow down.
"Boo," he smiled weakly as our eyes met.
"Charlie?" I gasped and jumped up on the sofa.
"Yeah," he sighed. I jumped over the back of the sofa and flew into him. I gave him a strong hug.
"You look awful."
"Cheers."
"What happened?"
"Camilla kicked me out for the night."
"Where did you sleep?"
"On a park bench," he rubbed his neck.
"Oh sit down," I pushed him onto the sofa, "You need a drink, I’ll be right back." I ran into the kitchen and poured him some water. I went back into the lounge and handed him the cup.
"Thanks." I sat down next to him and stroked the back of his neck as he sipped.
"What happened?"
"She said that I was cheating on her…"
"Oh."
"I denied it…but she reckons that it’s … Cait."
"Cait…?"
"Yeah…she thinks that Cait’s only going out with Matt to get closer to me."
"Ok," I rolled my eyes, "At least she doesn’t suspect me."
"She thinks you’re a slut…she wouldn’t expect me to cheat on her with you."
"Great…" I frowned, "How come you came here?"
"What do you mean?"
"Don’t you want to go back and try and make up with Camilla?"
"I wanted to see you," he looked at me hurtfully, my stomach flipped and I gulped.
"I’m glad you came," I rested my head on his shoulder; I could feel him gulping down the water. He took my hand and slid his hand into it. I kissed his neck lightly.
"Jess," Rosie came into the lounge.
"Yeah?" I mumbled through kissing Charlie’s neck.
"What should I wear?"
"Something pretty," I suggested.
"Why?"
"Just do."
"Ok…" she stormed off to her room.
"Where are you going?" Charlie growled whilst nibbling my ear lobe.
"I’m going to take Rosie to the Starlight Room where James is surprising her and then I’m coming back here to be alone."
"Oh really?" he raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah," I nodded, "I’d better go and get changed actually."
"Can I watch?"
"Sure," I laughed and walked with Charlie to my room.
Later on that day…
"Are you ready?" I tapped quietly on Rosie’s door.
"I don’t think I can go."
"Of course you can," I said soothingly.
"No…"
"Yes, come on," I opened the door to see Rosie in a silver dress with silver stilettos. The stilettos had stars all along the straps. "You look amazing."
"Thanks," she smiled.
"Come on," I wrapped my arm around her and walked her to the door, "See you later Charlie."
"Bye!" he ran over and kissed me. We left and walked to the Starlight Room. We walked up to the upper tier of the restaurant to see a table surrounded by star shaped lights. James stood up and walked over to Rosie.
"Rosie, can I talk to you?" he took her hand.
"No stay the hell away from me, Jess I can’t believe you did this to me," Rosie screamed at me and went to leave. I grabbed hold of her un-plastered arm. "Jess, let me go," she shot me an evil look.
"I think you should listen to him but it’s your choice," I walked away. Rosie turned to leave.
"Wait," James sighed, "I’ve been such a dick…I’m so sorry, I want you to have these," he handed her a black bag. She slid out one box and opened it. A diamond star necklace and matching earrings glinted back at her.
"James," she gasped and opened the next box which revealed a silver ring with a star shaped diamond. She slid it on her fourth finger on her right hand and it fit perfectly.
"A friendship and love ring," he explained. Rosie nodded and took out the envelope. She ripped it open to reveal a sheet of paper saying that James Bourne had named a star after her.
"James…" she bit her lip as he stood up and walked over to her.
"Before you say anything, please join me for dinner, its pasta?" he smiled. Rosie nodded and James pulled out her chair for her. "You look absolutely stunning."
"Thanks," she blushed. The waiter came along and gave them the pasta and it looked amazing. James served Rosie and then himself. They ate in silence, glancing longingly at each other. James innocently moved his foot and it touched Rosie. Both of them jumped back as they had both felt an electrical pulse go through them when they’d touched.
Cait and Matt…
"I want us to get closer," Matt whispered in Cait’s ear as they watched T.V.
"If you get any closer I’ll fall off the sofa."
"Not in that way."
"Matt, you’re obsessed."
"I’m not … I just love you so much and I want us to take the next step."
"Whoa hold on there, you love me?"
"Yeah," he smiled sweetly.
"No you don’t."
"Yeah I do."
"No, you just think you do."
"No Cait, I definitely do."
"Matt, don’t get all sappy."
"I’m not being sappy, I love you…"
"Well I suppose," Cait frowned, "I … love you too."
"REALLY?" he practically stopped breathing.
"I guess," she blushed. "So come on, let’s go," he took her hand.
"Matt, I don’t want to."
"Fine," Matt stripped his top off.
"Ok, ok, I’ll go," she stared at his body and they ran to Matt’s room.
Me…
I opened the door to the flat, smiling because I knew what Charlie and I would do.
"Charlie?" I called out, "Charlie?"
NO ANSWER
"CHARLIE?"
NO ANSWER
I ran around the flat, frantically searching for him. I picked up the phone and rang his mobile. No answer. I figured that he must have gone to see Camilla. I started crying.
"Stop crying, you know he has a girlfriend," I calmed myself and walked to my bedroom. I changed into my pyjamas and snuggled up in bed. I lay there for hours, staring at the ceiling.
RING
I couldn’t be bothered to get up so I waited for the answering machine to get it.
"Hi Jess… its Charlie… I can’t see you anymore… I love Camilla… I’m sorry… I need her… I don’t want you to think that you were just a fling… because you weren’t… you mean more to me than you’ll ever know…bye." I cried hysterically, but I closed my eyes tight and breathed deeply.
TWO YEARS LATER…
"You look so beautiful," Rosie sighed.
"Amazing," Cait nodded. I looked down at the wedding dress. It was beautiful. I fiddled with a loose strand of hair.
"Ready?" Cait asked. I looked at her and Rosie in their lilac bridesmaid dresses, they looked stunning.
"Yeah," I nodded. We walked out of the church room and I met my Dad. He smiled a hearty smile. James was sitting in a row we had to pass on the way to the back of the church.
"Rosie!" he grinned and ran over, he picked her up and kissed her. They had been going out for two years and were totally besotted with each other. James planned to propose on a holiday to Bali they were taking in a week’s time. Matt clambered over James to kiss his wife.
"You look amazing," Matt kissed Cait.
"Thanks honey, sit down," she blushed. We reached the end of the church. I saw hundreds of relatives. I slid my arm into Dad’s and watched as Cait and Rosie walked up the isle. I walked up with Dad, as I had practiced. There he was, standing at the altar, smiling at me. His brown hair glinting under the sun streaming through the stained-glass windows, he looked so happy. His blue eyes dancing as he smiled. I reached the front, Dad let go of my arm and I stared into the man’s eyes. The ceremony started.
"If anyone here sees reason that these two should not be joined in holy matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace," the Vicar smiled. The church was silent. The ceremony continued. Dan said his "I Do’s" and it was my turn.
"Do you Jessica Spencer take thee Daniel Matthew Hunter to be your lawful wedded husband, to love and to hold, through sickness and health, for poorer, for richer, till death do you part?"
"I-"
"JESS NO!" a voice boomed. I spun around but there was no one there. There was a murmur from the guests but no one could see the mystery man.
"Um," I continued, "I-"
"JESS NO!" the voice shouted again. I spun around and still no person.
"Ok, look, whoever that is, at least have the decency to show yourself," Dan shouted. A flicker of black suit whizzed past in the back corner of the church. I ran down the aisle.
"Jess, where are you going?" Dan screamed. I ran to the back corner but there was no one there, I opened the nearest door and I was dragged in by an arm. I turned around but the lights were off so all I could see was the silhouette.
"Jess, I love you, please don’t marry Dan."
"Who is that?"
"Um… I don’t want to say but say you won’t marry Dan."
"Show yourself."
"No."
"Kiss me then."
"What? On your wedding day?" he asked.
"Yep," I nodded. He slid his hand around my waist and leant down. We started kissing.
BANG
"Jess, I demand you open this door now," Dan hit the door.
"FUCK OFF DAN," I screamed and carried on kissing the man. We pulled apart and I gasped.
"What? What is it?" he asked.
"I know who you are… but no, I’m still marrying Dan."
"Even if you knew that I tried to get in contact with you for two years but your friends refused to let me… and I broke up with her for you?"
"What?" I spun around.
"I love you Jess, I broke up with her last year."
"Why didn’t you tell me?"
"I just told you, your friends wouldn’t let me."
"Oh my god," I frowned, "This is too much for me to take."
"Come with me," he swept me up in his arms.
"Ok," I nodded. He opened the door and Dan was standing there.
"I don’t think so mate, put her down."
"Leave me alone Dan," I screamed, the guy holding me punched Dan and he carried me out of the church to his Porsche.
"I love you Charlie," I sighed.
"I love you too," he nodded and we kissed, "I always have… I missed you so much…" he smiled. We got into his Porsche and drove away from the small church.
