Charlie groaned as he woke, he pulled his thin fingers through his thick hair; he shook his head vigorously in an attempt to remove a few stray strands from his eyes. He looked around the room another night, another hotel room, another hangover, and another gi-man he shook his head some more, opening his eyes, he blinked furiously.

“James?” he sighed in disbelief Holy Fuck, what the hell have I done? He groaned some more as the realisation hit him. He’d slept with someone else. A man.

“Mmm, Charlie,” James moaned happily, running his hands down Charlie’s body

Oh God, I’m going to split the band up he thought to himself I’ve got to get out of here he moaned. Then it happened. Charlie, half out of curiosity, and half out of proving to himself that he wasn’t gay, or bi, or whatever you would describe this as, kissed James on his lips, he held them there as a sudden bolt of passion roared through his body. He’d always known James was gay, he’d told them the day they’d signed their record deal. But, it’d never crossed his mind that he’d ever have feelings for anyone, or thing, for that matter other than his one true love. Camilla Smith. James’ eyes flickered open, fully this time, Charlie pulled away

“James, I, I, what happened?” Charlie gave up explaining, and simply asked James, he hadn’t drunk the previous night

“Charlie, you silly fool,” James smiled “you made me come to bed with you, you were so drunk that I was scared if I didn’t, you’d fall out of bed, again” James explained

“So, what, you mean, I, I mean, we, didn’t do anything?” Charlie exclaimed, he was confused, really confused

“No, Charlie we didn’t do anything” James reassured him, “sorry about the ‘running my hands down your body’ thing earlier, for some reason, I do it all of the time” James explained

“So, the kiss…” Charlie said dumbfounded

“It was all you” James whispered, stroking away a tear which was falling down Charlie’s face. He turned to the window, watching as the rain pattered against the windowpane.

“So, what does that make me?” Charlie asked, confused, and for a nineteen year old, hung-over man to be confused at 4am on a Monday morning was never a good thing.

“That’s for you to decide, but the kiss, was, very good” James whispered as he watched Charlie throw his face into his hands. “Look. I’ll go downstairs” James offered, walking towards the door “make you a coffee or something” he suggested

“Don’t go” Charlie murmured, firmly wrapping one of his large hands around James’ strong, vein filled wrists, pulling him towards him. “James.” Charlie sighed “when I kissed you, I felt something which I’ve never felt before, even with Camilla, it felt, so,” James watched onto Charlie as he paused, pulling the back of his hand across his face, dismissing the signs of his emotional weakness which were etched across the windows to his soul, not wanting to reveal more of himself too James than he already had done. “So right.” He mused, looking out of the window, the raindrops still falling on that pane of glass, the lead effect framing the sunrise beautifully.

Charlie looked on as James walked through the departures lounge, and through the gate. Typical, I lay my career on the line for him, I lay the respect of my family on the line for him, and what does he go and do?! Leave me. The words of a song which his oldest brother had written came into his head, he sang them too himself.

Every time I close my eyes you come into my head
Everytime I think a while I remember what you said
For every smile you ever gave I'll give a little sigh
For every moment that came to go was a moment towards goodbye

And if I fell back down to earth today I wouldn't feel a thing

Cause I'm numb with blue emotion, with words so hard to sing

I knew sometime you'd have to go,
I knew sometime you'd make me cry
At that last time lying by your side
The time again when I wanted to die

Time and people tried to slow us down
Time and people tried to bring us down
But we felt so strong we feel so good
And I know I love you like I knew I would

He closed his eyes. “Let the Rain fall down on me.” He sighed, and walked outside.
