A red-faced Field personally apologized to Beyonce Knowles and her fellow pop tarts after a chatty staffer at her downtown boutique ridiculed the girls in Spin magazine. "They were ghetto bitches with no class!" staffer Joie Polaroid dished to Spin's Marc Spitz. "Buying wigs and sunglasses for disguises. Beyonce's mom does her extensions, and you can totally tell." Field issued a hasty mea culpa to the Destiny divas and fired off a letter to Spin, a copy of which was obtained by PAGE SIX, stating: "On behalf of my boutique, I want to clearly state that Destiny's Child are excellent clients. The chart-topping girl band member admits she too has found life in the fast lane exhausting, and thinks Carey was very brave and wise to give herself the time she needed to get herself back on track. She says, "So many people want so much from you that it's very hard to find time for yourself. It's really important to surround yourself with people who love you and tell you when to slow down because it's so easy to just want to work, work, work. I'm very happy that Mariah's doing well, it's very normal to get tired in this industry and I think it's great that she took some time." Destiny's child & Solange are doing a new song today for a disney show, the song name is "The prous family", more info coming soon. 8/14/01 Destiny's Child Will Work For Food Destiny's Child members Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams signed autographs in exchange for canned food donations Friday (August 10) at the Arsenal Mall in Watertown, Massachusetts. The event, sponsored by the Greater Boston Food Bank and WBOT Hot 97.7 Radio, generated enough food and cash to provide nearly 1,400 meals. The food will be distributed through the Greater Boston Food Bank's eastern Massachusetts-based meal programs. Following the autograph session and food drive, the multiplatinum trio performed at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield. Other groups that have participated in the Greater Boston Food Bank's drives include Bruce Springsteen, Aerosmith, Shania Twain, and Jewel. "It's wonderful that despite their hectic concert schedule, Destiny's Child still makes the time to give back to the hungry in the communities in which they perform," said Catherine D'Amato, president and CEO of the Greater Boston Food Bank.
