Kimberly's Day Care
October 20 ~ Wednesday
Today we talked about Deinonychus. He was a meat eating dinosaur. Patty the Pumpkin showed us a picture of a Deinonychus, he had three fingers on each hand and they had very long claws. We sang a song called, �Deinonycus� (to the tune of �Oh, My Darlin� Clementine�). We worked with our Firefighter Math Manipulative. We matched 1, 2, and 3 firefighters with printed numerals on cards of
1, 2, and 3. We played a game called, �Don�t Wake Deinonychus�. One child was the dinosaur and pretended to be asleep, the other children snuck up and asked the dinosaur if he was awake. If he said �no� then the children ran away. The kids thought this was so much fun. We made a picture that looked like dinosaur scratching. We used plastic forks and spread paint around. We read a book called �Dinosaur Babies�. We did Calendar Time and Weather Bear.
