D:*I am 6', 200 pounds, wearing a long sleeve leather tunic, bosk hide pants and mocboots with reinforced sole and padded insole. 1)Full helmet with noseguard 2)a circular, steel rimmed 36"Torvie shield (with a 6" diameter steel boss in the center, protruding about 4" from the curved face of the shield) my right forearm is thrust through a single loose strap and my fist grips the center grip on the handle beneath the boss 3) 26" blade shortsword (with pommel ball on end of grip and pommel guard crosspiece at the base of the blade) sheathed over left shoulder and strapped diagonally across my back 4)12" quiva , sheathed on outside of my right hip 5)matching shortsword, held in my left hand. I take a position in the center of the spar area, turning to face you. I set my body facing you squarely, but my right foot is 2' in front of my left. My right hand is held close to my right side, with my elbow bent to 90 degrees of angle, holding my right wrist against the bottom of my right lower rib cage, so that the shield face is turned mostly to my right. If I was at the center of a compass, and you were at due North, the boss of my shield would be pointing roughly NNE and the left rim of my shield, (at 9 OClock on the shield face, my view) would be pointing roughly NNW. The upper rim of the shield is at the height of my lower lip, or about the center of your adam's apple, since you are taller. I extend my sword-arm forward, left elbow bending to about 45 degrees to lay the flat of the blade (4" above the pommel guard) on the rim of the shield at about 11:30 OClock (my view), so that the tip of the sword is pointing to my right (pointing roughly NE on the same compass view I used to define the orientation of the shield, relative to you). I turn my head to face my left, watching you mostly with my right eye as you take your position.*
E:looking about as I flex My arms on My 6'4" 240 pound frame......deciding to walk out with what brought Me to the dance.....removing four of the seven quiva that lay across My chest........leaving two for left handed draw the third for right handed draw nestled snugly in the 8" wide leather belt that drapes from left shoulder to My right hip......twin 26" dual edged short swords resting firmly on My hips set for cross-handed draw......drawing the twins swords watching them form an "X" as I draw them.........turning My left shoulder towards You........the left sword parallel to the ground pointed slightly back from You across my chest........held about gut high.......the right sword pointed downward and out from My right hip.......the right elbow bent at a 45 degree angle......twisting the balls of My feet in the sand as I dig in and crouch slightly turning My head directly towrds You perring over my shoulder about 3 paces away........
D:*Measuring my steps to finish in my original stance, square to you with a right foot lead, I shuffle quickly straight forward to close the distance to close quarters where my left fist is about 18" from your throat (2) before I backhand slash my left sword at a diagonal angle from my right to left, and slightly downwards, keeping my wrist stiff and the swordtip oriented to my right, as my sword passes toward my left side and my arm eventualy straightens from the momentum of the sword swing - but my wrist holds firm - keeping the sword tip pointing mostly forward and a bit towards my right, as my left hand finishes the stroke at a level about 1' below my shoulder, attempting to slash the left edge of the blade across the front of your throat and hopefully open it to the spine, hoping the position of my shield hinders any attempt to raise your left sword in defense. (3) Anticipating a lateral movement and accounting for any possible change in your position as a result of your defense to the first strike, I pivot on my right foot and step towards you with my left foot, as far as necessary to allow me to be at an effective distance to (4) orient my sword to stab the sword at a diagonal angle from my left to right and foward/down, on a tangent intended to slash the left edge of the blade along the top/front of your right thigh as I attempt to dig the point into the inside of your left thigh, hoping to pierce the femoral artery just above mid-thigh. (5) My left elbow comes back to a bent position tight against my left side as I reset my sword at 9 OClock(my view) on the shield rim, only a few inches of the tip extending past the shield.*
E:sees You shuffling forward........1) pivots quickly on My right foot moving the left behing My changing My view as the 2) the left sword comes upwards hard to parry the sword away from My neck.......... feeling the sword cut slightly to the inside front of My right thigh as blood trickles from the cut.........3)bringing the right sword in an overhand arc fom it lowered positiond towards the top of Your head.....expecting Your to duck behind the shield........4&5) stepping forward with the left foot thrusting the left sword straight over the top of Your right sword arm trying to pierce Your right side of Your chest.........
D:2uses my sword to make a horizontal block on your sword as it comes down, my arm coming up and hand turning to the outside to orient the sword from left pointing right as I raise it to meet your sword and parry it high (2) the sword cleared above the shield, I move my right arm to my left to take your left sword on the face of the shield(3)moves laterally 2' to my right turning my right side to you on a right foot lead(4)slashing the sword diagonally left/down across your face (5)and back to 9 OClock my view on the shield face as at the end of the last post*
E:growling feeling the left sword parried outwards..........the right still high as it came over the shield........seeing You move to My left two feet..........1&2) stepping back with the left foot bringing the right straight across hard blocking the shot to My face feeling You blade grind on the hilt of My sword as You draw it back...........My right side facing You.......3) moving quickly at diagonal to My right just one foot over from My original position ramming My right shoulder into the outside half of Your shield to push it against You as I slide by getting My right sword behind You........4) bringing the left sword over the top of the shield aimed at Your left ear............5) slicing hard with the right sword towards the hamstring of Your left leg.........
D:3as you move away from my shield to your right, it is easy to avoid your body block to the shield and let you run into my left shoulder, knocking me away from you and forcing me to pivot on my right foot to maintain my balance (2) I then squat a bit lower as I raise my sword to parry your sword upwards in another horizontal block, the tiip slightly higher than the hilt, to defend the ear, deflecting your thrust high as it grazes my helmet (3)already squating so your blow is more thigh high, I bring the shield into the path of your sword, moving my arm well around to my left to take your sword on the shield face (4) pokes the tip of my sword at your right eye, before (5) resetting it on the shield as before at 9 Oclock my view on the sheild rim*
E:growls as the sword is parried from the ear........the right sword now wide again.........1)ducks My head to the left feeling the blade notch My ear...........2) drivingthe left sword downward from its raised position over your head toward the right clvicle area of Your shoulder near the base of Your neck........3).expect Yopu to move to Your right as I swing the right back in from the outside towards the back of Your sword arm........4)pulling back with the left arm drawing the sword along Your chest and the top of Your sword arm hoping to open the chest.........5)turning over my right wrist driving the sword downwards around the outside edge of the rim following the circle toards Your left thigh....
D:4raises my shield in a diagonal angle up/right to take your downcoming left sword on the shield rim (2) I swing my bent left forarm to my left to use my sword to deflect yours from my arm, taking a bit of a graze before I can drive it more behind me than intended - as your sword tries to get through my shield into my chest, my left sword (3) comes forward to parry your sworde from the edge of my shield away from my thigh (4) the sword jabbing straight at your belly (5) as I step away from you to a distance of 2 paces, setting my right side towards you on a right foot lead*
E:seeing your sword crossing under your shield parrying My sword away from the shield....My right sword now under yours......1) yanking the right sword upwards parrying the thrust at My belly upward feeling the tip crease the right side of My chest opening a nice new road on the map of My torso not deep.....seeing You back away two steps....2) following You step for step seeing the sword is now facing Me.....3)bringing the left from the outside in aimed at catching the top part of Your right arm hoping to lure the sword out and up to catch it.......4) kicking My right leg towards Your shield to keep it from coming over to Your right .......5)the foot landing as I thrust the right sword towards Your exposed left side
D:5your left sword at my right arm, behind the shield is taken on the face on the face of the shield with a slight movement to the right to make sure you cant get behind the shield into the bicep the shield taking a bit of a graze from your kick, wondering if you have sudden onset dyslexia as (2) my left side is behind me and my extended sword is in a good position to parry your sword thrust wide of my body with a diagonal up/left movement of the sword (3) slashes the sword from my left to right, trying to open your belly (4) as the sword comes back to the 9 OCLock my view position on the shield rim (5) bringing the shield around to my left a bit to put the shield boss directly ahead of me as I face you on the right side, right foot lead*
E:the swordcoming at My belly again.......1)pivoting on My left foot dragging the ri8ght behind me as Your sword gouges the leather belt that holds My quiva...........My left side now facing You.........2)backslashing the left sword at Your right sword hoping to move it out...........3) stabbing the right sword into Your shield trying to pin it to the left side of Your body.......reversing the left sword bringing it back inside slicing at Your chest trying to cut deeply........5) turning over My left wrist to the outside using the forward impetus to drive the point into Your chin at the top of Your adams apple.......
D:*totally confused by your dyslexia at this point, I use a move I learned from Kurzon, I drop to my knees, the movement digging the lower edge of the shield into the ground before me so that it is solidly braced and covering me from the ground to my upper lip, your sword blows hack into the shield face and vibrate it painfully against my forarm as they strike at my body. (2) I get back to my feet and this raises the shield enough to make sure your sword doesn't slip over the top of my shield as it strikes at my adams apple*
