Welcome to my new website, this site has been kindly designed by Liz Scott of the Scotsdream Shelties in Australia, thank you so much Liz.
I was born in Canada and brought up there until family circumstances forced my parents to come to the U.K, my mother was very prolific in the German Shepherd Dog breed and campaigned in the obedience shows with myself in tow!!!
When I left home I went to work as a working pupil in a riding establishment. I took my BHSAI which I passed with Honours, until recently I kept my own Section D Welsh Cob.
When I met my husband George in 1982 we married and now live in a beautiful Hamlet in N.Wales.
George introduced me to his friends who owned the Arrowbrook Kennels here in N.Wales, they bred Irish Setters and the Irish Red and White Setters, I was hooked!!!!!
We built up our own kennel of eight Irish Setters and did quite well in the show ring. but as the years went by and the Setters passed over to the rainbow bridge, age and time was taking its toll on me, I suffer quite badly with arthritis. I then realized that I could no longer handle the large breeds.
So after studying many breeds, we decided the Shetland Sheepdog was the perfect breed for us.
We approached Mrs Margaret Norman of the Francehill affix, she kindly agreed to sell me Francehill Polly Hannah, who has gone on to become our foundation bitch.
We then contacted Mrs Margaret Botham of the Balidorn Shetland Sheepdogs, who has guided us and helped us with our shelties, without her help we wouldn't have the wonderful shelties we now own and have bred, we thank Margaret for all her time and effort. We value her friendship greatly.
Gill and Kirstie Venton of the Mistyisle kennel, have also been of great help to us, teaching us how to show and groom our shelties, and have both become great friends
We are a small hobby kennel and at present have four bitches, the youngest we are hoping to campaign in 2009
We have found the sheltie world to be full of warm friendly people, whom have welcomed us to the wonderful world of this delightful breed.
