She died at the the young age of 39 of T.B.

This following information was given to me by my Great Aunt Madeline (King) Gandee.  This is the story she heard growing up from her mother and grandparents. I have not found documentation on this yet.

Excerpt of a Letter from Madeline King Gandee:

"John (Sheady) King 19th Reg. Infantry Gar. Wife of Mary Devine. He tried to get into the army but told he was too young. Took his mother's maiden name (KING) and was taken into the army.  All information about him is in Washington. Mary Devine had two sisters, Anna Married Campbell.  Katy or Kathie married a Kelley."

The following is a partial report of my research I collected of this particular family line.  I have a lot more information that I am willing to share. (Death, birth, marriage, census, cemetery records...need to add to my database). Below is a report three generations from John King.   I am looking forward to researching further back on this family line!  Perhaps a trip to the North Western PA area is in order. All documentation was copied from the source as is, including all misspellings. 

1. JOHN¹ KING was born July 1832 in Pennsylvania, and died Bet. 1911 - 1912 in Williamsport, Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania. He married MARY DEVINE 1867, daughter of CHAS DEVINE and ? MCCLENAHAN. She was born February 02, 1845 in Ireland, and died February 20, 1907 in Cascade Twp., Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania.

2. JAMES ROBERT² KING (JOHN¹) was born January 1868 in Williamsport, Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania, and died June 05, 1917 in Williamsport, Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania. He married ALICE VIRGINIA MORRIS October 19, 1890, daughter of ROBERT MORRIS and MARY SUTHERLAND. She was born August 11, 1872 in Warrensville, Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania, and died June 08, 1934 in Tyrone; Blair Co., Pennsylvania.

3. CHARLES² KING (JOHN¹) was born April 1872, and died 1930. He married BESSIE BALTZER. She was born December 1878.

Children of CHARLES KING and BESSIE BALTZER are:

i. MARGARET³ KING, b. January 1895.

ii. LAWRENCE KING, b. April 1899.

4. FREDERICK² KING (JOHN¹) was born June 1874 in Pennsylvania, and died 1954. He married CATHERINE MCDONALD Abt. 1901. She was born 1871 in Pennsylvania.

Children of FREDERICK KING and CATHERINE MCDONALD are:

5. GEORGE B.² KING (JOHN¹) was born 1878 in Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania, and died 1951. He married NETTIE WETTLAUFER. She was born 1890 in Pennsylvania.

6. JAMES ROBERT³ KING (JAMES ROBERT², JOHN¹) was born February 10, 1904 in Williamsport, Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania, and died March 04, 1978 in Painesville, Lake Co., Ohio. He married MARGARET ANNA MARIE BAUM July 28, 1924 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland, daughter of HENRY BAUM and WILHELMINA FOCHLER. She was born November 04, 1906 in Altoona, Blair Co., Pennsylvania, and died February 19, 1984 in Painesville, Lake Co., Ohio.
