Hi,

Please include the following notes in the club notes section
of the Limerick Leader for the Kilteely/Dromkeen GAA club.

"It was a relatively quite week on the games scene last week
with our minor hurlers with the aid of some Caherline players
being defeated by Murroe last friday night.
Our Junior footballers were competing in the first round of the
east Senior football championship against Oola last Saturday night.
Realisticly it was going to be very difficult to win this game
and a good result would have been appreciated. We started off well
and owned the ball for the first 10 minutes or so, in the cold, wet
and slippery conditions we found it difficult to score. Oola opened
the scoring Tally and seemed never to stop scoring until half time,
when their scored 2-06 to our blank result. In the first hald we
gave the ball away too easily on many ocassions even from frees
and sidelines. Our forwards were not tracking their defenders
especiall their center back line, which put our defense under severe
pressure. We even  found it difficult to win our own kickouts. Realising
our mistakes in the first half the players got stuck and kept at the
task in hand. Our forwards turned failed attacks into defense, our backs
made better distribution of the ball and kept posession. Eventually
scores came, with Anthony McCarthy starting off his spate of free
conversions our first point was followed by a goal converted by Jim
Henessey after a quick free. Oola were finding it difficult to cope with
our pressure as we launced attacks form our full back line. It was an 18
man effort that brought us back into the game scoring 1-6 in the second
half and keeping Oola scoreless, it ended K/D 1-6 Oola 2-6.

Our 9 a side U-12 footballers took on Caherconlish last Monday evening
at home. We have a very young side this year with an average age of
10 though this has not hampered their efforts. Mondays game was a very
exciting affair and we were just one point up at half time in a score
or 3 points to 2. The second half was as exciting as the first with
caherconlish scoring a goal and we added another 2 points to our tally.
It ended all square at full time. It will be interesting to see how the
competition fares out now, we have won one drawn one and lost one. Our
U-12 hurlers take on Caherline on Monday evening at 5:30 in Cappamore
we will be leaving Kilteely at 4:45 this is our first hurling match of
