Hi,

Can you please include the following notes in the club notes
section for the Kilteely/Dromkeen GAA club;

"It was a disappointing result for our U-21 footballers on Saturday
night who took on Pallas in the first round of the U-21 A football
championship. I was always going to be difficult to compete with
Pallas, though with a depleted squad it was going to be next to
impossible. We battled hard in the first 30 minutes and were ahead
by one point after scoring a goal. After loosing two players through
injury we lost the battle and Pallas slotted 2 goals before half time
to finish 5 points up at half time. The second half was dominated by Pallas
as they managed to add scores to their to an ever increasing margin.
Though it was a bad defeat to suffer it was through no fault of the 17
players nine of which were minors, who wore the red and green and
made the best of the situation.  Many questions must be asked of
thoes on the missing list, most of whom would be termed as our so
called "good players" who let down their frineds, their club and
their parish.

The team lined out as follows; P. Redfern, A. Murphy, F. Cagney, R.English,
P. Ryan, M. Smalle, L. Smalle, K. Murphy, J. Hanley, T. Hennessey,
P. Keogh, A. O'Connell, T. McKenna, D. Keogh, Freddie, D. O'Dea,
L. O'Sullivan, A. Chevan

Our U-16 footballers were defeated by Garryspillane last Sunday.
Though the mairgin was 5 points in the end to Garryspillane we
stil should have won this game. We conceeded two soft goals in the
first half which were hard to recover from. Lets hope our fortunes
change this wednesday night when we take on Adare.

It was a better result for the Junior B football team on Sunday
night with a win over Oola after the draw with Knockane on the
previous saturday. We started off badly only managing a point
before half time after many squandered chances. The 2nd half was
a different game, from the very start our center field and our
forwards fought a lot harder to keep possession of the ball. Some
positional switches during the second half made a big difference,
swapping Joe Hanley and Liam O'Dea from full forward to centre forward
opened up the game. The introduction of John Prendergast to full forward
was the winning of the game as he was our main scorer converting frees
and attaining that vital goal which out Oola under severe pressure. The
backs held their own through out the game with great displays from Tom
Jones who dominated at center back. Gerry Prendergast pulled off a vital
save in the closing stages of the game which ended up in a score of
Kilteely/Dromkeen 1-6 Oola 0-5. The team lined out as follows, G. Prendergast,
E. O'Dea, B. Ryan, E. English, G. O'Dea, T. Jones, R. English, N. O'Dea,
J. Hennessey, K. Murphy, L. O'Dea, T. Hennessey, Freddie, J. Hanley, M. Murphy.
introduced; J. Prendergast, P. Ryan, A. Murphy.

It is back to the training field for our Junior, U-21 and minor teams as
training will take place on Wednesday and friday nights at 8.

Our U-21s are to play Pallas in Caherconlish at 6:45 in the first round of
the U-21 A football championship. This will be a tough game to win.

Our county scor competitiors were narrorly beaten in the county final last
Saturday night in Askeaton. Taking part in the Novelty act were, Pat, Liam,
Eddie, Eibhear O'Dea, Anne O'Connor and Ger Rhodhan. Ann O'Connor also
had tough competition in the recitation in which four finalists fought it out.

Juvenille training on saturday at 11. This will be followed by an U-12
football match v's Ballybricken at 4pm in Pallas.

There will be a bus going to the
Limerick V's Clare in the Gaelic grounds on Sunday April 8th, this is
open to all U-14 players, admission to the game is free and a charge will
apply for the bus."

Thank you,
Regards,
Eoin.
