Please include the following notes in the club notes section of
the Limerick leader.
"Conditions were perfect for the encounter between the former county
junior
football title holders in '89 and the current days junior team. As
in 1989 when
they defeated Mungeret they were up for the
challange again. Ten and a bit years on they gave the present football
team a lesson on how it is done, winning out by 2 points. Though
some may argue
they had a little help from the referee!! they were deserving victors.
A very entertaining game was enjoyed by the large attendance as many
veterns
returned to participate and perform in the gala event. Will we
see a few
return from retirement? Over all it was a very enjoyable game to play
and rumours
of a rematch we mentioned before the evening was over.
Junior/U-21 physicial training this Thursday night in the field at
7:30pm.
For those of you who have not paid up membership for this year the closing
date is
Sunday evening, payable to any member of the club committee.
Juvenille training in the field on Saturday evening at 3pm. We are still
short a
number of selectors for the extra number of juvenille teams this year.
The most
likely canditates would be parents of the players. Anyone interested
please contact
Padraig O'Dea or any member of the club for details of what is involved.
Ideally
we would like to know before Saturday evening.
The juvenille club will be holding a day trip again this year no venue
is set yet
so any ideas would be welcome. Only players attening regular training
sessions
would be eligble to go as the number of places would be limited."

Eoin.
