"The re-play of the U-21 football took place last Tuesday week in
Pallas. It was always going to be a hard one for our lads who were
just back together after finishing their exams. Never the less we were
in there with a chane. Oola were the more dominant team on the night
and took their scores more easily and opened a half time lead. In the
second half Oola more or less continued as they began but we improved
greatly. Some points and a goal brought us within 2 points of Oola
at the
end of the game. Luck was not on our side that night as we missed some
goal
chances and injury hit us throughout the game. Though many of our players
were involved in the U-21 football championship their summer is not
at an
end yet, many of them will be playing an active part in the Junior
football/
hurling and U-21 hurling competitions taking place throughout the summer.
Next Sunday night sees the start of the Junior hurling championship
when we
take on Caherline in Pallas at 7:30 pm. Caherline must be fancied for
this one,
especially with their league success. We on the other hand are finding
it very
hard to achieve back to back success playing with depleated sides most
nights.
Championship is championship though and we can be just as good as anyone
in
the east.
The juvenille day out is taking place on the 12th of August anyone wishing
to
travel attend training on Saturday morning for further details. The
juvenille club
would like to thank Murphy Fuels Hospital for thier sponsorship of
gear bags and
caps which were presented to the U-12s.
The photographs enclosed are of the U-12 9 a-side football team who
defeated Ahane
in the east final.

Eoin.
