Stay

One of my poems from a time when I was longing to find that special someone.

Fast the morning dew hath risen
Oh, too soon the day is given
Let this midnight linger still
Make the stars obey my will
Wont this darkness tarry longer
To satisfy my only hunger
For on the sun's beams she will go
To places only angels know
Swiftly glows the eastern sky
Brighter still as minutes fly
I look to her and hope she'll stay
But in a wisp she flies away
Too long to wait the coming night
When I again shall hold her tight
