This Place of Safety
I wrote this one while bored in a chat room. Still, it makes some good points about evil and the strength to overcome it.
forthwith I shall hence from here
lest my mind wanders and the shadows of emptiness come to claim my sanity
for tis not but a bit of darkness in the vast reaches
which touches the mind and draws into itself that which makes us human
fly brightness, and tear away the black to distant peaks
where it cannot be hid, nor can it cause harm
rescue this soul in peril, for beams of light are the poultice of a broken heart
bring forth the heroes of memories past in their shining silver
to conquer the mighty foe before us
let dreamers dance and dancers dream
and on that day when the two are one, let hope reign to go to all who see
and once again let peace rain in this place of safety
