I Glimpse A Demon

I wrote this one to express how outward appearances can be deceiving, and how even those who see themselves as evil can have a pure heart.

this face
it wears a ready smile
smooth in form
and soft to touch
but in the mirror I glimpse a demon

these hands
so quick to caress
to strongly hold
and give support
but in my grip there waits a demon
these eyes
they witness beauty
so clear to see
a perfect world
but from within there peers a demon

this soul
it yearns for heaven
charity held
within a body
but even there I feel a demon

is it right
to let this demon live?
perhaps to escape and terrorize?
perhaps not
but in my heart I glimpse an angel
