A Single Flower
I know this one doesn't seem very inspirational at first, but I think it states how much hope a single positive thing amidst all the negative can give.
bitter candy, sweet and sour
hearts grow lonely by the hour
tears remember warmth and love
now the terrors push and shove
angry, aching, wanting more
crying at another door
knocking on a hollow shell
sobs that echo like a bell
peace is mocking overhead
too hard to climb with feet of lead
fight against a great, dark power
the only hope...
a single flower
