What music have you been listening to lately?

T - i listen to the radio a lot

P - RRR or PDS

T - both, theyve got really good radio shows there...little feet, i really like little feet

P - Tims tell a complete lie 'cos actually all hes been listening to is the tape i made him

T - its true

P - which has us and the easybeats on it

 P - and Michael Jackson 'Bad...i made Timmy a tape 'cos i fell in love with him and the way you seduce people is make them a tape of music that you love and give it to them. So i made him a tape and gave it to him after he barred me, he went out with Miranda Otto in LA  instead of spending the night with me and i had like, two 8 balls of cocaine and he still barred me, you know, and im fuckin sitting up with these two 8 balls rackinup goin Easybeats now...us, i played a lot of magic dirt. Thats what hes really been listening to, bit hes been trying to tell you...

T - trying to be obscure

T - dont you have a new record coming out?

P - the new records July...its a bit more boring i think...a bit more American...because Americans are all serious

So you prefer club shows?

 T - yeah

P - i saw You Am I at Silver Lake in LA and they opened with Timmy Rogers doing like 3 acoustic numbers. It was quite a different attitude, seeing them do that, so its maybe just a pub thing for you guys

T - i saw the 'spoon in New York city

P - He saw us at CB GBs

 T - its the same thing where its exciting 'cos you see friends as well as bands that you only used to be standing in front of with
 hundreds of thousands of people, seeing them play to 20 or 30 is just really exciting, so i think weve got that in common, weve just done a year of doing small shows, but then playing to a lot of people is always thrilling

P - it was weird...im just interrupting on the interview totally...but when we came from America after seeing you (You Am I) and we had to play Livid and its like 35000 fucking people there, you know, the biggest gig wed ever played. It blew me away,  it blows you away, You play to like 20 people in the states who are really like, not really interested but wanna be

  T - i think we were on the last tour of the states we actually managed to do some good shows, we were playing like 2 or 3  hundred in a couple of towns, just enthusiastic, not people who knew the earlier albums
 

What would you be doing otherwise?

P - hed be working on my EH, ive got and EH, i hear Tims a hell of a mechanic, hed get under the bonnet and...i dunno...fix up the gear box...

T - paint it..thats all i could do

P - oh really?...ok sorry

T - making pizzas

P - Pizzas?

T - thats what i did before the band...i quit uni so i could play

P - i think a video shop or something could be good for me, id be able to recommend maybe...the Lost Highway

T - whats your forte?...did you understand Lost Highway?

P - i did, excuse me for a minute...he really did kill his wife...ive got the theory...id recommend Natural Born killers to 12 yr olds and True Romance to 11 yr olds, you know those R rated movies that are really good

T - thats the job for you

P - yeah thanks, well what are you gonna be...a pizza boy!

T - no, just making them

P - What about your creative side, you could really fuck up with the pizzas and your always on the wrong side

T - thats where the creativity comes in

P - ok...sorry, im being really silly
