| Subject: When the going gets tough.... it's time for a cuppatea. ok.... i think i might have something remotely interesting to write about this time. I quit my job at Southern Water... as i have been repeating constantly.... i then moved out of my house in Brighton... after having a good go at drinking the bottle of vodka the girls in the micro lab gave me and dancing like a champion at a pretentious indie club (the best kind !) Oh my attention span is failing.... ok ok ok what was i saying? I then proceeded to head northwards with Mr Smiley... after stopping in London briefly to deposit my suitcase and to have a yummy Sunday lunch (or dinner... whatever you want to call it)... Spent the next three days in Preston.... well kind of.... in reality i had the immense pleasure of visiting Blackpool, Manchester and Liverpool and spending a day in each... walking aimlessly searching for a decent snowglobe... Blackpool has to be the most horrid place i have ever been... scummy hotels and flashing lights as far as the eye can see, with the sound of bingo callers in your ears at all times.... to me, it looks like a place that would have been an awesome place to go on holidays in the 60's but now is just a tad worn.... but i did get an awesomely tacky snowglobe. Manchester had no snowglobes.... what's the story?!?!?! i think i'm gonna visit there again, because i'm pretty sure i must have walked around anything of any worth. I went to the Science and Industry museum.... woo! Liverpool was quite fun. Exactly what I imagined. Not somewhere i'd really want to be walking around on my own, but if i knew someone else who was a Beatles fan, then it would be cool to check out all that malarky with them. And yes, i did get a snowglobe... although not as tacky as i had hoped. Now i'm in Dublin again.... thought i'd head back over here to actually see some of the bits i missed and possibly spend more than 5 minutes with Cormac. Surprise surprise I didn't avoid trapesing around in several fields in the freezing cold. But this time, i wasn't drunk ... we were looking at old rocks and things... (this is where i went... to save my poor excuse for a description: http://www.mythicalireland.com/ancientsites/newgrange-facts/ ) Tomorrow I head to Edinburgh for a few days.... should be interesting... fingers crossed it wont rain! I'm then kinda stumped as to where i'm heading... Going to see QPR v Cardiff in late november.... but I also think i want to go to York and maybe possibly Leeds... I dont know.... we'll see. Anyway... I had best be off! My botty is going numb. talk to ya soon. Sal |
