Thought I'd have another attempt at making a few people jealous... (especially if it's filtering water that gets you going).....
I think last time I emailed I was in Scotland? I can't rememer... well!
Since then I have encountered a tube strike (which led to the circling, on foot, of Kings Cross tube station for about an hour before we realised where we were), yet another couple of windy days in Brighton, as well as sharing a room with three festy guys. I still haven't adjusted to the severe lack of darkness at night or the extremely high percentages of lard within each meal I eat (i'm about to be fed a fry-up for dinner - i can't complain... it's free). But still things are as good as they can be.
Thanks to the people who sent emails to me for my birthday... and thanks to those who almost thought about sending one (it is the thought that counts).
But anyway.... on a lighter note.... heading off to Dublin tomorrow (6 days off work - woo!).... meeting up with Cormac as well as going to a fairly impressive looking festival on the weekend. (www.oxegen.ie - if you're interested). And yes, have to be on a bus buy 4am tomorrow (it was the latest flight I could get before the weekend that wasn't �119!)
Speaking of work.... things with Southern Water are going quite well. And yes similarly to working for Sydney Water... it is "as stimulating as working in a sausage factory", but i'm earning pounds all the same. And they seem like an alright bunch of people who dont seem to have the words "festy" or "texta" in their vocabularies. I'm still waiting on the news that will tell me whether I'm staying here beyond July 26th... but if they don't let me, I sure don't want to be the person to tell them!
Been drinking mostly every night... but you'll be proud to know that I haven't gotten to that point where I can't remember anything since i've been here (err the smell of food boiling in butter)........ went to another club similar to the one in Glasgow (curiously with the same name) and again not full of complete tossers.... only one festy guy telling me i was "fit".
Anyway... best be off..... gonna get in trouble if i'm on here too long.
