Disneyland presents...
"Pinocchio's Daring Journey"
page 3

MONSTRO!!!!!

After the scary children-turning-into-donkeys horror scene you zip along to a beach where... AIGH! MONSTRO attacks! You swerve right to avoid being eaten by the huge foamy/cardboardy whale and see lecherous old Gepetto making his very first appearance in this ride. He calls to his little woodenhead and you then enter an extended happy ending scene. Jiminey Cricket points you along as you pass through the darkened streets of "Pinocchio Village" (odd they named the village for a wooden monstrosity that hadn't even been concieved of or even dreamt in a terrifying nightmare yet whenever the village was constructed) towards Geppetto's puppet shop/den of sin where the little wooden boy becomes a little fleshy lad. Not in the ride, he's still wooden at the end, but you know what I mean. I was just looking for an excuse to type "fleshy lad". I'm sure some of you will understand.

Once in Geppetto's sex shoppe, you see the Blue Fairy (symbolism?) granting Geppetto's wish for his OWN LITTLE BOY while Cleo and Figaro gaze on happily. Are they happy that Pinocchio is now a real boy, or are they happy because they'll be getting less of Geppetto's special attention now? This is even scarier than the whole kids/donkeys/slavery thing to me... I have to mention, and this will expose my nerdiness, that after I finally watched the movie, the most thrilling part of this ride was seeing Figaro and Cleo at the end. They made me giggle like a silly giggling girl. The picture I took of them is probably one of my favorites EVER from the park. I am a simpering boob. After that you see Jiminy standing on a shelf proudly holding his "Official Conscience" pin and then you go through Geppetto's serene little shop, passing all his neato keen toys and crap as you exit the ride.

another view of the building from outside.

Where do you go after witnessing greatness such as
"Pinocchio's Daring Journey"? If you are a lover of fine
food and want to spend $5 on a burger, you'll go to
VILLAGE HAUS!
The finest Pinocchio themed restaurant IN THE WORLD
(And yes, I HAVE been to Village Haus Paris!).
