Reign Of Terror - "Threnody Of The Impaled" (2002 Evil Vengeance Records) Review by Chad Fletcher

Reign Of Terror is one of Texas' most brutal bands (of which there are many!!), hailing from El Paso. Drummer, Mark Arredondo, also known as "The Engine," provides some punchy blast beats to go with monsterous guitar riffs of Richard Osmond and Gilbert Sanchez. C.J. Holguin is a very talented bassist and vocalist, but is often overlooked when talking about the top performers at the respected instruments. "Threnody Of The Impaled," the band's third release, is by far their best and ranks among the best of any extreme metal band in the world!! It's suprising to me that Reign Of Terror are not a bigger band touriing the country. I'm positive that as long as they remain a band, that they will make a huge impact on the world of brutal metal. At the moment, R.O.T. are in the studio recording their latest album, which does not have a title yet. After hearing "Threnody Of The Impaled," I am looking forward to hearing the next cd. If you like Evil, Satanic Death Metal, then check out Reign Of Terror!!
