Interview with Jason Rollins of Nailhead Interviewed by Chad Fletcher

1. How and when did Nailhead begin?
We started out in 1999 in Milwaukee,Wi. We were just a group of friends into metal and shit and decided we wanted to be rockstars.

2. How did you come up with the name Nailhead?

We just had a long list of cool names that we all came up with and voted on Nailhead.

3. How's the new album coming along? Do you have a title for it yet?
It's coming along great. The drums are complete and the guitar tracks are nearly finished. We still have a ways to go, but at least the drums are out of the way. Any band will agree that the drums are the worst part when recording. We have not selected a title yet, but we have a few cool ones to choose from. The album should be released by the end of August i hope.

4. How will the new album compare to previous Nailhead releases?
Well,we didn't rush into recording anything, so i think out best recording is our first one, which is the "Molesting The Wicked" EP from 2001. Since it sounded great, we kinda rushed into our other recordings because we fell in love with the studio environment. I think that all of our albums kick ass, but this new one will be the best by far. We're taking our time and putting it together nicely. The guitar leads are gonna be killer. Our new lead guitarist, Aaron Brown, is incredible.

5. Any touring plans in support of the new album once it is done?
Nothing yet, but we're working on it. Alot of cool bands have said they would tour with us.

6. Who are your biggest influences?
Everyone in Nailhead has different taste in music. My personal influences are Misfits, Samhain, Type O, Danzig, Ministry, Stigma, Black Dahlia Murder, Sabbath, Goatwhore, Slayer, Acid Bath, Agents Of Oblivion, Rollins Band, Black Flag and alot more. I'm into alot of styles of music.

7. Where do you see Nailhead in 5 years?
Famous!!!

8. Any final comments?
Thanks for the interview and all the support you have given us. We appreciate it. Metal for life!!
