The midwest has faired pretty well against the east and west coast when it comes to producing some brutal extreme metal bands. Indiana's grind-gods, Decrypt, Are as good as they get no matter where they are located. "Holy Erotic Rapture" delivers some killer, ferocious grindcore much like Agoraphobic Nosebleed and Blood Duster, only heavier!!! They also possess amazing talent and chemistry between band members. Guitarist, Chris Montez (who will be touring guitarist for Internal Bleeding this summer), is a very technical guitarist and blends in nicely with the rest of the band. Chris also throws in some killer back-up vocals to the much respected lead vocalist, Zach Gheaja. Drummer, Brad Vanderzee, can blast beat like there's no tomorrow, and bassist, Jimbo Kelly, has a unique style of bass playing that you don't hear much of with this style of music. Decrypt also put on a badass live show, i recommend checking them out if you haven't already. "Holy Erotic Rapture" may just be the heaviest album to ever come out of the midwest, but it!!!

This album is fucking brutal the whole way through... Not a boring moment in the entire cd! Mutilated, from Detroit,Michigan, deliver gore-drenched death metal that will kick you right in the fucking teeth and leave you wanting more!! Mutilated, who impressed many major labels, signed with Forever Underground in 2003. Their FIRST show was with Exhumed and Mortician!! Now that's a way to start off a career. Lyrically, Mutilated lean towards the styles of bands such as Waco Jesus and Anal Blast and musically they sound like Dead For Days or Corpsefucking Art. Mutilated have recently finished their first headlining tour across the U.S. which also included Bowel's Out and labelmates Decrypt. Their live show is insane!! IIf you have a chance to see Mutilated, go fucking see them or you are a moron!! You will be sorry to miss them. Let's hope that Mutilated head back out on the road soon. As for the follo-up to this brutal album, who knows? But "Devirginated Genital Pulp" is a must have for your collection.
