| Demon Core - "Destined For Destruction" (E.P. 2003-Killing Spree Records) Review by Chris Jonez Major props to Steve Rick (producer of this EP) for making Demon Core sound good!! Demon Core were a garage band from Stone Lake/Superior,WisconSIN. The band broke up in August of 2003, but made alot of fans in their 2 years of hell-raising. They also had alot of people who hated them because of the fag bashing song "Inspector Faggot" (yes they did the Inspector Gadget theme and changed the lyrics to bash on homosexuals). All of Demon Core's old garage recordings were absolutely horrible, so it's nice to listen to this studio-recorded masterpiece. Demon Core are well known for their diversity, and weird style. Track 1, "Kill Machine," is a slower Black Metal song which features guest vocals by Case Hutchinson (lead guitarist/vocalist of Cenarium). Track 2, "Society's Disease,' is a very personal song to the band which deals with being a Satanic metalhead in a small redneck town. The song is a slower Nine Inch Nails type song. Track 3, "Tex," is my personal favorite. This is a redneck bashing classic, which has been compared to Anthrax's hit "I'm The Man." Track 4, "Down And Gone," is a dark doom song with wicked-sounding keyboards and clean vocals. Track 5, "Headgames" is kinda the same style as "Tex." Out of control metal with cool sound effects. Track 6, "10:31," is a badass song about legalizing marijuana and killing cops. The music sounds like Cypress Hill playing metal. Overall, this cd is cool, but repetative. The band are not great musicians, but they put together a decent album here. Fans of all sorts of metal should get hooked on these catchy tunes. www.angelfire.com/band2/demoncore www.geocities.com/demoncoremilitia -Chris Jonez (Killing Spree Records)- |
