| ATG - "Revolution Of Adolescence" (2004 Independent) Review by Chris Jonez Albuquerque,New Mexico's ATG (Against The Grain) have a great sounding 11 song debut cd here. This album was brilliantly recorded and produced by John Wall at Wall Of Sound Studio in Albuquerque (www.wallofsoundstudio.com). This is just basic heavy metal with no real originality whatsoever. Don't get me wrong, ATG are talented musicians, but their style has been done too many times. The only reason that ATG gains so much publicity is because they have money backing them up. They are not out there busting their asses like most bands, they don't really need to because their manager (the bassist's mother) has a nice fat checkbook to back them up. If AnesthesiA had this kind of support, they would be signed and touring the world, because THEY are a real band who play real music. ATG do have alot of fans, mostly 15 year old girls who don't even dig the music. They go to feel important, thinking that they are in good with a popular band. It's all about image isn't it? I do apologize to ATG for such harsh words, but i speak the fucking truth here!!! www.atgmetal.com www.myspace.com/atgmetal -Chris Jonez (Killing Spree Records)- |
