I
didn't build this model kit from the beginning. My fellow modeler
Steve Tripomo did it and left it dusty and unfinished among other
unfinished models in his modelshop. One day I came and hang out
till late there, I saw this half done model and ask if it's going
to get done or not. then Steve allow me to bring it home to finished
it. wow I was so excited, because this model is a rare one. When
I get this model from him, the fuselage and wings already done.
and the major filling and sanding task i didnt have to worry about.
I continue to build its landing gears, fuel tanks, air brakes,
etc. and some other small details including canopy. then I browse
on the internet to find reference, I dont wanna paint it in bare
metal finished, I want something different, and not using soviet's
symbol. Finally i found a camo pattern for Egyptian air force.
It look interesting to me. I use the decals from the box, modelmasters
enamels and tamiya clear. I use oil paint thinned with white spirits
to wash the panel lines. |
