| In the Beginning by Hurricane In the Beginning, they all were just a group of friends. Biking was definitely a favorite activity, and next came partying. There were nine of them: Estella, Ulani, Pahedra, Bruce, Janelle, Levinia, Tarana, Heather, and Elyse. One Friday afternoon, the nine of them went on a bike ride after school. That day Ulani and Phaedra were going to teach Janelle how to bike no-handed. Cmon. All you need to do is hold your legs right and keep your balance, and youve got it, Ulani acted like she was jogging as she biked along. Hey Ulani, thats real funny, Elyse observed Ulanis stunt for the first time. What we need is a hill. That makes biking with no hands easier, Phaedra suggested. You need a hill? Are you kidding? Any where you go around here, is a down hill, Janelle was somewhat sarcastic. So where are we going any way? Levinia was getting impatient. Beats me, Heather was ready to get going. How bout that really big hill near the railroad tracks? Estella offered. Sounds good to me, Bruce bolted off in the direction of the hill. "Hey wait up! Tarana started after him, Hes hopeless. She caught up with him at the stop sign ant waited there. They built up speed as they headed towards the hill. Now youve almost got it, Phaedra encouraged Janelle. She let her friend go down the hill first. Finally Janelle gained the balance and the correct position, Ive got it! Ive got it! She didnt notice the large stick on the ground in front of her. Suddenly, she was flipped head-over-heals, still on her bike. Ahhhhh! she was afraid she was going to smash her head on the pavement. Janelle thought, Im falling. This is really going to hurt. Why me? Well, this is what I get for being a slow, unobservant, klutz. Im falling, wait Im floating. Floating? Her surroundings changed. She had gone through a portal. Portal? Her friends began to appear around her. All of them were just floating. Everyones hair blew around them as if in a strong wind. White jewels were set on their foreheads. They were going to another world with many adventures awaiting them. This is their story. |
