Ticks
Ticks can cause a lot of problems too. They can cause infections
and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. (AKA in Brazil as San Paulo fever)
Never remove a tick on your
own unless you know what you are doing.
1. Make sure you get all of the
tick out. do not just pull on it or you will leave the head on it and push
all the fluids from the tick into the human.
2. If you develop any of these symptoms
=
rash around the wrists and ankles, a headache, nausea or vomiting during
the next three to four days seek medical help. Tell the doctor that
you took out a tick and when.
3. If the area becomes red or infected
seek medical help.
Chigoe (AKA chiggers)
These varmints bite around your ankles and lower legs most of the time
but can bite all over your body. They leave tiny red marks and itch
like crazy. I cover the area with chigger creams and treat with an
anti itch cream. To prevent them cover the ground with a blanket before
sitting on it or lying down on it. They tend to nest in areas
where the ground cover is dead like under trees.
