| My Bio |
| I grew up out in the country in Rockton, Illinois, where I started playing the piano at age 5. I soon added other instruments to my repertoire. I attended Illinois Wesleyan University, where I studied English and Anthropology. I performed with several choirs and ensembles and accompanied many vocal and instrumental lessons, recitals, and other performances. I spent my Junior year at the University of Durham, where I learned much about how the rest of the world views the United States. I strongly encourage all college students to spend a year studying in a foreign country. After graduating, I lived in Eagle River, Wisconsin for a year, where I worked in a deli, played for a church, accompanied grade school students for solo and ensemble contests, had a weekly four-hour folk music program on the Rhinelander public radio station (WXPR), and was in two plays at Nicolet College in Rhinelander: Dancing at Lughnasa - for which I composed some original music - and Betty the Yeti. In October 1996, I moved to Chicago and started playing for ballet classes at Lou Conte Dance Studio and Ballet Chicago. In April 1997, I started working for the American Society for Clinical Pathology, where I organize continuing medical education programs. In September 1998, I got rid of my dead Tercel and bought a Honda Scooter, and I've been happily on two-wheels ever since. I've racked up over 40,000 miles on the scooter and my two subsequent bikes, a 1999 Honda Shadow ACE 750, and my current bike, a 2002 Suzuki Bandit 1200. In January 2000 I became a company member at Circle Theatre, a professional theatre company in Forest Park. I am also Circle's resident sound designer and was recently named Managing Director. I just bought a house in Berwyn, Illinois. |
