The original KILLAWATTS site was launched in 2000, after I and a mutual friend were discussing the absence of genuine, hard rock sites that were dedicated to that particular genre of music. Sure, there has been Kerrang magazine (most notably in the 80's) which was the 'bible' as far as lots of metal fans were concerned, but In today's metal world - countless fanzines and magazines have all jumped on the, 'Nu-Metal/Extreme Metal' band wagon - deserting the genre of music that actually helped establish many of them, in the first place. Today, as hard rock and classic metal are slowly, making in-roads again - most metal magazine publications are still not reporting enough news, info etc. about the geniune, hard rock bands that most of the 'old-school' metalheads wannna know about. KILLAWATTS.NET reports on all the happenings that we deem important to the 'classic' rock fans from around the world. We too wanna know about, Saxon, Priest, Maiden, Queensryche, Metallica, Megadeth, etc. We also wanna know about all the great 80's bands that are re-forming, Krokus, Stryper, Rhino Bucket, Warrant and Guns N Roses. etc. - releasing brand new product, because these bands were cranking out the anthems when we were growing up. Yes, we wanna know about all the new breed of hard rock bands, Beyond Fear, Evergrey, Big Cock, Wig Wam etc. - strutting their stuff, following in the footsteps of the 'legend' bands of metal - just like millions of fans around the world! KILLAWATTS.NET is a bunch of people, just like you and me who all share the love of 'classic' hard rock music and are loyal followers of the genre, regardless of any mainstream musicial trends.
