All characters in the following text are
from the Playstation and PC game: Final Fantasy 7 by Squaresoft.
I did not create them, and therefore make no claims of ownership.
This fiction is simply written as a tribute to the truly unique
characters, and to satisfy my perverted imagination.

Somewhere, far from the known reaches of human existence exist an empty
void. It is an endless black room, inaccessible by the outside world.
No life exists in this room, with the exception of one tormented soul.
This soul has sinned worse than any other, has caused more pain than
thought possible, and has affected more lives than any other single man to ever
exist. This demonic spirit is the
twisted remains of a man know only as “Sephiroth”.
“Fear; it was unknown to me” Sephiroth said in an emotionless voice,
hopelessly looking around the dark emptiness for company.
“But now I live in terror, in shock, in utter despair.
Why? Please tell me, why?”
he pleaded, as if someone were listening.
A bright flash of white light filled the dark room, and a beautiful
woman dressed in white robes slowly blurred into Sephiroth’s vision.
Her green eyes looked down on the broken and bruised form of Sephiroth,
and she shook her head in pity. “Poor,
poor Sephiroth...” she said, throwing her long brown hair back to better
reveal her face, “you are here because it is not safe for you to rejoin the
lifestream yet. You are too
corrupt, too sadistic, too tormented, and most of all, too evil.”
The white light slightly faded, allowing Sephiroth a better view of the
woman. “Aeris?!” Sephiroth
said, as if he recognized the woman, “you... you are... an... an angel?!”
She smiled down at him, appearing pleased he recognized her.
“I think it would be more appropriate to call me ‘your’ angel,
Sephiroth.” she said, offering him her hand.
He hesitantly took it, eyeing her suspiciously as if he did not trust
her.
“My angel? What does that
mean?” he asked, as Aeris pulled him to his feet.
Ignoring Sephiroth’s questions, Aeris waved one of her hands over his
head, and took several steps back.
An endless column of light suddenly surrounded Sephiroth, nearly
blinding him. His jaw dropped in
awe as the wounds from Cloud’s final, devastating attack began to close,
seemingly healing themselves in mere moments.
His long, silver hair straightened itself and became silky and clean
again. His torn, and ripped clothes
sewed themselves back together in moments, outfitting him in his old black
soldier attire once again.
The brilliant column of light quickly dimmed out and he was back in the
dark void, starring in wonder at Aeris.
“I am your angel Sephiroth, and that means I have to decide what to do
with you!” Aeris said, nodding her head in approval at the now much cleaner
Sephiroth. She smiled widely as a
brilliant idea crossed her mind, and eyed Sephiroth playfully as she spoke,
“We are going to take a little... trip” she said, taking the reluctant
Sephiroth’s hand without his consent.

Just after Aeris had taken his hand without permission, Sephiroth
noticed a very sudden, very dramatic change in his surroundings.
No longer was he in the dark, empty, endless room he had occupied for
what seemed like and eternity, but now he stood in “a bar?” he said aloud,
not knowing what to make of the situation.
“Well,” Aeris said in her usual playful voice, as she suddenly
appeared next to him, “to be exact,” she said, “Tifa’s New 7th
Heaven.”
“Why the #$$%! have you brought me here?” Sephiroth asked, eyeing
the grinning Aeris suspiciously. He
made a visual survey of the noisy restaurant, “and why doesn’t anyone care
that we just ‘appeared’ here?” he added to his first question.
“They can’t see, or hear us silly!” Aeris responded, almost
laughing. “And we are here to...
to make you fall... fall in love.” she said, her face blushing as she watched
Sephiroth’s eyes widen.
“Fall in love!?” Sephiroth screamed, his flawless, pale face turning
a reddish tint, “their is NO living person that can relate to me, NO genius
than can think as my own, and certainly NO ‘body’ that deserves mine!”
Aeris stood still, unaffected by Sephiroth’s out of character tantrum.
She simply smiled and nodded as she spoke, “you have never been in
love, have you?” she said, a hint of sadness in her voice, “I finally
understand why you have so much hatred in you. No
one has ever loved you... poor, poor Sephiroth.”
Sephiroth turned away from her, trying to hide the sadness that crossed
his face. Aeris’s words had gone
into his very soul, stabbing him like a thousand daggers. “She is right,” he thought to himself, “no one has ever
loved me.”
A single gray tear fell from Sephiroth’s maku-green eyes, which Aeris
caught in her gentle hands before it could hit the ground.
“So... there is hope for you yet.” she said, looking at one of the
few tears that Sephiroth had shed in his life.
“I will never have love now” he said, throwing the long strands of
silver hair back to show his pain-stricken face, “all I will ever get now from
these people is hatred... and retribution.”
Aeris smiled, petting the long, silvery hair that ran down Sephiroth’s
back, ignoring the menacing glare she received for doing so.
“I am going to get in a lot of trouble for this,” she whispered,
“but you’re going back to life, and you are going to find love.”
