County sign O'Leary Kildare County have moved quickly and have already found a replacement goalkeeper for Wayne Russell who is moving to Derry City. The Newbridge side have signed Danny O'Leary from Monaghan United. O'Leary played for County last season, and was Monaghan United's first choice this season. He has already been registered as a County player and should make his debut this Friday against Athlone Town. However, O'Leary is ineligible for County's FAI Cup run as he played against Skerries Town last week, and thus is cup-tied.
O'Leary said "Although I enjoyed myself in
Monaghan I jumped at the opportunity of joining Kildare County. I spent a
very enjoyable period at County last year, and I
enjoyed both the players and supporters. Gavin Dykes has kept me fully
updated on County’s progress, and I am delighted
to be renewing acquaintances with the players” |
