The Prelude to the trip:  Ok Ok I know what you are all wondering, Why would some one nicknamed the "Killer Cook" ever want to work for the big happy place know as Disney?  Well the reason is, its an opportunity of a life time. Sure they will  have me flipping burgers in some tourist trap but what other way do you know of is there to work for a fortune 500 company when your still in college? None that I recall.

A Little about the Cook:

The Killer cook (n.1): A man with an insane sense of humor, able to withstand punishing amounts of heat induced by hot peppers, hot sauce and the like. (n.2.) Darren Davidson, A college student at Oneonta State University, Who graduates in spring 2001. He hails from Mt. Sinai NY on Long Island. and Is 20 yrs old.

What it took to get in:

1) an Interview: Always dress for success for an interview, and look the part your applying for. I went for the Culinary or the Restaurant service part of the program, So I wore a suit and tie. Hair cleanly cut and neatly combed and clean shaved. Believe me that goatee you had for years is only holding you back.  During the interview remember to wait your turn and be polite when addressing the interviewer, try to break the ice a little if the guy mentioned he is a sports fan ask about the game last night. Remember a little small talk goes a loooong way.

2) Getting accepted/waiting you have to wait usually about 3-4 weeks till you find out if you got the internship or not. I was special and only had to wait 2 weeks (I guess they really wanted me!) With that letter comes a form to fill out and an arrival date remember that date cause if you miss it your screwed!

3) In forming the `rents, I kept it under wraps with my parents until I was able to tell them face to face. It is a big shock for any parent that there kid is going to work for Disney. Trust me.

UPDATE!!!

hey hey kids, I just got my second information packet, Inside it was a bunch of legal forms(permisson for credit checks and stuff like that) and 2 books one telling us about RAVE and common sence stuff , you know what to expect and what to brtring like your passport drivers licesence 50$ for fees and then 250-300 for food the first couple of weeks. The other book was on the disney look hair cut and facial hair stuff. though i just saw on cnn that disney is getting rid of the facial hair thing though I do not know when or how true the thing was.
