Christina E. Stephens

I was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida.  While in school I played the flute, volleyball  and participated in various clubs and societies such as, Beta Club, National Honor Society, as well as participated in the Speech, Debate, and Drama team.  I served as Treasurer of the team  and during my senior year I had the honor of serving as Vice President of Student Council. Right away I began to learn the details of planning and  scheduling dances, parties, competitions, and lodging for small groups.  Little did I know that these experiences would later affect my decision to study hospitality as a career.

In the Fall of 2000 I began attending the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida.  I was first majoring in Advertising/Public Relations, but after a closer look into the field I decided that Hospitality suited me more.  Within hospitality my degree is concentrated in the organizing, planning, and management of conventions, conferences, trade shows, exhibitions, and other special events.  I graduate in August 2003 and intend to pursue a M.A. in Communication.

My hobbies include reading, volleyball ( still), traveling, and playing with computers.  I enjoy learning and consider myself to be a quick study.

My job strengths are the ability to be flexible, creative, patient, and friendly.  Typically I have always liked to have a hand in everything, but one skill my experience has taught me is delegation.  That is why teamwork and establishing committees are very helpful.
