On July 21, 2000 vs Texas he hit his first home run in SAFECO Field. Last year he played 2B, 3B, SS, RF, LF, CF. He set a new career high for stolen bases.

Mark had another great season as the Mariners utility player (although he doesn't like that word!! (G)) in 2002. His season was basically cut short when he made a spectacular diving catch and hurt his elbow. He had to have surgery to get bone chips removed. He had 5 hits in a 15-2 win against the Blue Jays. He also made an awesome squeeze bunt early in the season to help the M's win a game.

Mark was one of the main keys to the Mariners success last season playing wherever Lou Piniella asked him to. He will play more LF this year, and was voted the MAriners "Unsung Herp" for 2001.

Mark McLemore lives in Southlake, Texas with his wife Capri and their kids DeMarca Shea, Darien, and  Derek. Graduated from Morse HS, San Diego.
