He spent the 2002 season in Oakland, and put up good numbers. He will fit in well, posing as an extra outfielder, and power off the bench. He also had a 7 game hitting streak last year. and had a .502 slugging percent - the best of his career. John lives in St. Louis with his wife Ann and three children, J.T. and daughters Danielle and Nicole. He graduated from Bohemia Manor (Md.) High School in 1988 and was a three-sport star in baseball, basketball and football. He also attended West Chester (Pa.) University, where he played baseball. He was the Cardinals Rookie of the Year for 1995 by the St. Louis chapter of the BBWAA. |
