Edgar Martinez is someone who many consider the best DH and the best hitter in the game. In the year 2000 he lead the league with 145 RBI's and belted a career high 37 home runs. He tied a Mariners single season record with 4 grand slams last year. He is the only person in the majors to hit .320 or better in his last six seasons. He is a 6 time All Star and went last year. Last year he got his 1000th career RBI making him the only Martinez to ever have 1000 RBI's. He is the Mariners all time leader in games played and RBI's.

Edgar is planning on playing 2 more years for sure, and we hope it's more!! After was he called a 'dissapointing' season last year, he hopes to do better this season.

Edgar Martinez lives in Kirkland, Washington with his wife Holli and his son Alex. Edgar owns a Carribean Embroidery Company in Redmond Washington. He is the cousin of former major leaguer Carmelo Martinez.
