| Born: 09/14/72 Birthplace: Cincinnati,OH,USA Height: 5'10" Weight: 190 Position: 3B Bats/Throws: Right/Right MLB Debut: May 3, 1995 David Bell played most of 2000 at second base, but moved over to third when Carlos Guillen got injured. He also started some games at first base when John Olerud got days off. He got a career 3 RBI's in one game. This year he became only the second Mariner, joining Dan Wilson, to get 5 hits in one game vs. Detroit. This year he has been a steady third baseman and almost made the All Star team, was leading the voting for 3B but Cal Ripken decided to retire so everyone voted for him. David Bell was traded from the Mariners to San Fransisco for Desi Relaford this offseason. Good luck David! David Bell lives in Seattle with his wife Kristi. He is the son of former Major leaguer and now Colorado Rockies manager Buddy Bell, and grandson of former major leaguer Gus Bell, becoming the third 3 generation family in baseball joining teammate Bret Boone and the Haristons. |
