Ben Davis
Born: March 10, 1977
Height: 6-4
Weight: 215lbs
Throws/Bats: Right/Switch
Birthplace: Chester, PA

Ben Davis was traded to the Mariners in exchange for Ramon Vazquez, Tom Lampkin and Jose Paniagua. He had a .998 fielding percentage in 77 games behind the plate in 2002. He also threw out 44% of would be base stealers. Ben batted .294 in the second half of the season. He hit first American League home run and first homer of the season on May 4 against New York (haha.. damn Yankees!) Ben also hit 7 homeruns last year, including a homerun on the last game of the season, and 2 grand salamis!

What the Mariners like about him, is the fact that he's a switch hitter. He will have extra time this Spring Training, trying to learn the pitchers. He isn't as developed as Dan is at calling games, but he's still young.

One of his best friends, Mike Darr, died in a car accident a few days in to Spring Training.
