| Alex is the youngest of 3 kids. He has an older sister Susy and an older brother Joe. Shortly after Alex was born in New York, the family moved to the Dominican Republic. The family moved to Miami, and shortly after, when Alex was 9 his father, Victor, left his mom, Lourdes, and the rest of the family. Him mom worked 2 jobs to support their family. |
| When Alex his favourite basbeall player was Cal Ripken Jr. from the Baltimore Olrioles. When he was a kid, Alex watched or played baseball in his spare time. He graduated from Westminster Christian Academy, and at age 17 he was the first round draft pick for the Mariners. He played his first game in the majors at age 18 making him one of the youngest players to come to the majors. At first he didn't want to be drafted by the Mariners, but then after he was glad he was on the Mariners. Even though 8 years later he left the Mariners and signed the biggest contract in sports histroy. He signed a $252.2 million dollar contract with Texas, the biggest contract in sports history. Alex was married on November 2nd, 2002 in Dallas to long time girlfriend Cynthia Scurtis. |
