Part V
A New Dawn.
"Man Wufei, You've been watching her for the past 3 days, What's up?" Quatre asked as
Wufei looked out the window at Brittany, walking over to the park near Quatre's springhouse.
"I don't want to bother her, she's mad at me right now, you remember the last time we spoke,
We all were there." He said quietly as his eyes followed Brittany as she sat down on a bench
and wrote in a notebook. "Yea, I remember. Sorry I brought it up." Quatre replied thinking
about when Brittany slapped Wufei and told him to leave her alone so she could get over him.
"It doesn't matter now, What's done is done." He said as he walked away from his window and
over to his bed. His Duffel bag was packed partially. "Wufei? Are you leaving again?" Quatre
asked puzzled at the sight. "Yes. I'm also going to try to talk to her one last time, tell
her I'm leaving...for her." He said; his voice sounding slightly choked. "Why? You are avoiding
her fine here. So why should you leave?" Quatre asked. Wufei ignored the last, packed up the
rest of his stuff, and walked out of the room, leaving the bewildered Quatre standing behind
him. "What's with this act? Why doesn't he just tell her he also loves her?"
Brittany noticed Wufei walking towards her, and she thought for an instant about
walking off, but she noticed the duffel bag on his back. "Hello Brittany." Wufei said quietly
yet bluntly as he stopped in front of her. "Leaving? Another mission, I guess." She replied
the same way. "No. I thought it would help you out,seeing you don't want me around you." He
replied coldly. "Understood." She replied just as cold as he did. "So I guess this is goodbye."
He said as he began to walk off, but stopped short. "Don't believe everything you first see,
I learned that the hard way." He added just before he walked off completely. That last
sentence made Brittany think. "What does he mean by that?" She thought before getting up and
running after him. "Wait, Wufei! What did you mean by that?" She yelled before slowing to a
walk beside him. "Figure it out." He said speeding up slightly, but Brittany caught up easily.
"I won't leave you alone till you tell me!" She said. "Fine." He said, stopping at another
bench, setting his duffel bag beside it and sitting down. Brittany reluctantly sat beside
him. "When we first met, the way you regarded me made me think you would do nothing but fight
with me. When in fact you liked me. It made me think�What Impression I initially put upon you."
He said, stopping on porpoise. "Your first impression was caused by mine. I'm sure of that,
I thought you regarded me as competition as well." She said, looking down at the ground.
"But it wasn't your true thought. Right?" Wufei asked. Brittany nodded her head. "My first
impression wasn't my true feeling either. I just wanted to see if my suspicions were true."
He said. "Suspicions?" She asked, looking up. "You reminded me so much of my Meiran. I didn't
want to believe it at first, but the more we fought, the more you acted like her. Up until
you slapped me." He said, rubbing his face where her handprint had once been. "I apologize
for that�I shouldn't have gone off on you like that� It was immature and illogical." She said
sadly. "It wasn't your fault, I caused it." He said. "It wasn't," She shook her head, "I
deserve the blame. You haven't done anything but what your instincts suggested." She finished,
pounding her fist on the bench. "I must leave, I know I'm hurting you again." He said
standing up. "Wait�please. Tell me what you really thought about me." She asked, the pleading
in her eyes strong.
"I told you, you reminded me of Meiran. It scared me�" He trailed off and began walking again.
"Damnit Wufei! Don't leave me hanging, that drives me insane!" She hit her fist on a nearby
tree and sank against it. Her fist slowly bleeding. "I just didn't want to fall in love
again." He said bluntly to satisfy Brittany. Brittany's eyes grew wider as Wufei walked
off. "I didn't either�" Brittany said softly as she walked back to the house.
When Brittany walked into the main hall, she was met by Quatre, who immediately began to
ask questions. Brittany didn't hear any of them though. She walked up to her room, locked
the door, sat on her bed, and began to cry.
"What am I doing?" Wufei thought to himself, "I shouldn't have told her everything I did�
I should have just walked off." He knew she would be very emotional now, and he wanted to
be there, to hold her, to make her feel better. She was so strong, yet weak. He dropped his
duffel bag behind his chair in the cockpit of the Shenlong. "Too much has happened. What
now?" He thought as he sat in his chair. "What should I do now, Nataku?"
"What the hell is going on with me� I don't cry for anyone. I have no emotions." Brittany
said to herself as she tried to dry her eyes. "I can't take it anymore. It's driving me
insane. She stood up and walked over to the door. She opened it to find Wufei standing in
front of it. Both looked surprised at this meeting. "Wufei? What are you doing here?"
Brittany asked. "Funny, everyone else has been asking the same question." He said smugly.
Brittany let him walk in and sit down on the bed and she kneeled on the floor. "I guess
this is the part where we get down to some serious talking." She said. "Okay, we keep
getting into these fights, and we still like each other, right?" Wufei asked. "Yea. That's
about it." Brittany replied. "What do we do about it? We can't keep running away from each
other." He said. "We make out?" Brittany replied, trying to sound sarcastic. "That will
solve nothing. Seriously, We might just try to be friends. Or�" He looked up at Brittany,
hoping she would find the words for him. "Or we try to go as dating, like everyone else
around here?" She finally said, "If so, we better start by apologizing to each other."
She added. "Fine, I'm sorry for making you fight me, I had no clue you liked me." He said.
"And I'm sorry for going and blowing up on you after teasing you with my bathingsuit like
that. Especially in front of everyone." She said. "I forgive you." Wufei replied standing up
in front of her. "And I forgive you." Brittany replied. "But just one more thing, what
happened after I left? I really left you in a predicament." Brittany added, standing up.
"I really can't remember, it all happened so fast." He said looking down. "Forget it. Delete
that." Brittany said as she hugged Wufei. Wufei was surprised to find her arms wrapped
around his stomach; he placed his hand on one of her shoulders. "Don't worry. It'll get
better." He said lifting her head up to his, and kissing her. Right about that moment,
Samantha walked into the room, not knowing Wufei was in there with Brittany, She all but
fainted when she saw the two kissing.
"Oh my God! I'm so sorry, I had no idea that you two were together� I better go� Bye."
Samantha said running out of the room, leaving the two stunned. "Okay, that was� different."
Brittany said, still hugging on Wufei. "Ditto." He said, "I think this will all hit the roof
right about�Now." Just as he said it, the rest of the guys come running up to the room, and
immediately began asking questions. "Alright! We're a little confused� SHUT UP!" Brittany
yelled. And everyone shut up. "Okay, one at a time� what do you all want?" She said, still
holding onto Wufei. Samantha stepped forward and stuttered her first question. "Ya'll two are
done arguing, right?" She asked. "Yea." Brittany replied. "You two are going out now? You're
not going to run off and fight each other to the death, right?" Duo asked. "Right." Wufei
answered. "So we don't have to worry about another incident like 3 days ago?" Quatre asked.
"Don't worry." Brittany said. "Yea, we're just fine." Wufei added. "Good. That's all of our
questions� We'll leave you two alone now." Quatre said, leading Duo out of the room, who
pulled a reluctant Samantha. "I hope that's the end." Brittany said. "Sure it is, I'll make
sure of it." Wufei said walking over and locking the door. "Are you sure about that?"
Brittany asked. "Yea, you want to talk in privacy� Right?" He asked. "Sure, but I'm sure
they wouldn't try to sneak in on us� would they?" Brittany asked in return. "I wouldn't
put it past them not to." He joked as he pulled Brittany into his arms. "So now we talk�
get that ordeal past us� and start over." Brittany said as a small smile spread across her
lips. "Yes. That just about it." He said.
"Wow, I never knew." Brittany said as she leaned on Wufei's chest. They were sitting
on the floor by the bed, leaning on it. "So that's everything. All of my secrets�everything."
Wufei said, then sighed heavily. "All of them?" Brittany asked looking at him. "Yes. Every
last one of them." Wufei said. "You shouldn't have told me EVERYTHING." Brittany said
sitting up and staring at him. "Why not? It doesn't bother me." Wufei said. "But it bother's
me!" Brittany replied, "What if something happens? If I get captured, they could make me
tell them everything� Oh man." Brittany said sinking down to the floor. Wufei reached out
and held her. "Don't worry about that� I don't." He said quietly. "I just don't want
anything to happen." Brittany said. "Don't. I love you� that's all that matters right now."
What Wufei said startled and surprised Brittany. How could he love her after all she did to
him? Sadly all thoughts were blurred when Wufei bent down and kissed her again. At first the
kiss was light� an innocent one to be exact. But after a short while, Wufei hugged her
tighter and kissed her deeply. All emotions took a wild turn and Brittany wrapped her arms
around Wufei's neck. They stopped for a short second and stared into each other's eyes. "
Wufei�" Brittany breathlessly choked out. "Yea?" Wufei replied the same. "I� I love you too."
She said as she rested her head back on his chest. "I know." He said as they dozed off.
"Are all operations underway?" General Le'salle asked as he sat at the main officer's
chair. "Yes sir. All operations underway." Colonel Mitchell said as he stared at the console
of the temporary head quarters. "Good. Head out. I want Miss Love alive� if you can do that."
Mitchell saluted. "Yes Sir!" And he walked out of the room. General Le'salle's room was
darkened� the way he liked it. He first met Brittany when she first entered the Galactic
Space Force. He was just a Captain� She was just an ensign. Yet when she fought him, she
nearly killed him. He had been in love with her since. "Well, now that I found you, I will
have you� My little love." He laughed softly to his self and looked out the window.
"Rise and shine Love." Wufei said waking Brittany up. "C'mon, wake me up later." She
said turning away. "Don't make me use my secret weapon." Wufei said sarcastically. "I dare
you." Brittany Replied. "Fine." Wufei said before tickling Brittany awake. "Ahh! I'm up! I'm
up!" Brittany said trying to block off Wufei. Wufei backed up as Brittany sat up. "What's
up?" Brittany asked. "It's bed time." Wufei replied. "You woke me up to make me go to bed?"
Brittany asked confused. "Yep." He replied. "Thanks millions." Brittany said, standing up.
"I'm going to the restroom� I'll be back." Wufei said as walked toward the door. "The door
might be locked when you get back." Brittany laughed. "Do you want me to get changed in
here?" Wufei asked. "No�No, go ahead and go to the restroom� Just knock first." Brittany
said. "Fine. Be back soon." Wufei said as he kissed Brittany and walked out of the room.
Brittany ran over and changed quickly into some night cloths.
Wufei wasted no time getting changed into a large shirt and a pair of boxers. He
might be just going back to say goodnight. But he still didn't want to waste any time. When
he got back into the room, he saw Brittany was at her vanity, brushing her hair. "I see
you're ready." He said, kissing her cheek. "Whatever." She replied as she began to braid her
long brown hair into a long braid. "I never noticed how long your hair was." Wufei said.
"I know� I always have it up." She replied. "Well, let's get you into bed for tonight." He
said pulling her out of her chair. "So, Where are you sleeping tonight?" Brittany asked.
"In my room�Where else?" He said. "Well, I can make a place on the couch for you." She said
as she held his hands. "You really want to tempt me?" He laughed. "Did I say I was going to
tempt you? I'm merely offering, no harm in that. Besides� I don't have a good feeling� Maybe
I should sleep in Samantha's room." Brittany said, looking nervously out her window. "C'mon,
don't play scared with me� Nothing's going to happen." Wufei said as he led Brittany over to
her bed. "I really am not trying to talk you into sleeping with me� I really don't feel
right� I don't know� maybe it's my imagination." Brittany said. "Don't worry, I won't let
anything happen� If you really want me to stay in here, I will." Wufei said as he tucked
Brittany into her bed. "No, you're right� it's nothing� I'll see you in the morning."
Brittany said as she sat up and hugged Wufei. "Okay, I'll see you tomorrow� maybe they would
have forgotten about us by that time." He said, returning the hug and sitting down. "I doubt
that." Brittany laughed. Wufei leaned in and gave Brittany another kiss, this time it was
short and sweet. "Sweet dreams." He said as he got up and left the room, closing the door
behind him. Brittany turned onto her side and went to sleep after looking out the window for
a few minutes� She still had a bad feeling� and she didn't know what it was.
Wufei awoke that night, something wasn't right. He walked over to Brittany's room,
and opened the door, which was left unlocked� not like Brittany's usual night time procedure.
He walked in to find an empty room. He ran over to Samantha's room, hoping she decided to
sleep in there again. No luck. Everyone woke up 15 minutes later, and they all came to the
conclusion. Brittany was kidnapped.
Brittany struggled too see in the small area she was in. She was still in her small
nightgown, with a plain white oversized shirt on over it. She was handcuffed and strapped to
a chair. Her mouth was gagged, and her head hurt severely. The room was incredibly dark, at
least, the room she was in� the door was surrounded in light, but she couldn't look at it,
for her head hurt so much. "Nice to see you're finally up." A male voice interrupted her
thoughts, and removed the gag from her mouth. "What the hell do you want?" Brittany managed
to speak out. "Nothing much� Just you." He replied. "Well that's interesting, I don't even
know you." Brittany said. "My names Le'salle. General Le'salle." / General Le'salle!?!? What
the hell is he doing here?/ "Don't bother trying anything. This place is guarded tighter
than Fort Knox." He laughed as he got up and walked over to the hurting girl. "You're much
prettier than I remembered." He said as he lifted her chin up to take a better look. "Not
the ensign I remember." He added after a few seconds of studying her face. He leaned down,
attempting to kiss her, but she turned away as fast as her neck would allow. "Sorry, I didn't
know I offended you. I'll back down kindly." He said stepping away. "Why did you take me?
What do you want?" Brittany tried to sound as coherent as she could, but alas, she still
felt and sounded slightly tipsy from the drug that they had used against her. "I want to
take you to my private estate, and I want you� plain and simple." Brittany had to admit, it
was better than wanting to spar all the time, but still. "What is the true reason you
kidnapped me� Samantha would be much easier to get information out of." She said curtly.
"My lovely princess� You don't understand, do you?" He asked. "I want YOU. Not Samantha,
not Stefanie, not anyone� what makes it so hard to understand?" He asked. "I just don't see
the reasoning in you taking me, that's all." She replied.
"What are we going to do!" Wufei yelled as he ran out to his gundam, which was in
the hidden hanger underneath the estate. "We got to get to them, fast!" Samantha yelled,
following close behind. Duo was forced to stay behind and watch things. Along with Quatre,
who was told to watch over Alisha. "I'm Taking Light's Veil!" Stefanie yelled, finally
reaching the hanger alongside Heero. "Fine, I've got wing zero." Heero replied. "Whatever
you two, we got to go now!" Wufei yelled from the cockpit of the Shenlong. Everyone was
situated in their gundams and off before the sun had a chance to rise.
However, when the sun rose for Brittany, her situation looked dimmer than it ever
had before. By that time, General Le'salle had her locked away in the new OZ- Stormer's head
base in the northwest region of Egypt. Her room was sufficient, but way too small to do much
other than sit around and wait. She hated the idea of being trapped so horribly, but it was
the best they gave her, until Le'salle decided to move her to one of his many rooms. She
presumed he had many rooms on the case that he was such a high ranking official, General
Oberhofer had alone half a quarter of the entire base to herself� but then again, she was a
girl, and the hostess of the largest lavish parties to grace the universe. "Your up." A
familiar, yet terrifying voice said behind her as she looked out the barred window. "How
long have you been watching." Brittany asked as curtly as she could possible say. "Long
enough." He replied, just as curt, yet wickedly smooth. "What do you want, you never seemed
to want to tell me the true reason for your kidnapping me at such a foul hour." She said.
"Just understand that I have known you since you were and ensign. And we fought our first
battle, here, right above this base." He said, walking in closer, drawing the air away from
her, or so it seemed. "You seem so sure of yourself." She replied. Trying to seem as calm as
she could. "I am sure. You don't understand how long I wanted to see you, be beside you, run
my hands through your long silky hair� kiss you." He said, touching her shoulder, whispering
most into her ear. "I guess you haven't noticed that I happen to have a boyfriend right at
this time, have you?" She asked, trying to keep him away from her. "Don't be silly, you
never had a boyfriend. And you certainly don't have one now."
"I picked up a faint signal over in the northwest region of the country of Egypt.
Her radio transmitter hasn't been destroyed yet, she might still be alive." Samantha said
over the intercom. "I hope so." Wufei said quietly as he flew further into the morning sky.
That radio transmitter, A.K.A., Brittany's earring, was still going, luckily the
technology for it had just been conceived recently, and she and a precious few others knew
about it. "General, Something's are heading this way, and fast!" A lower ranking official
yelled through the door. "I'll be there in a minute." He replied calmly and coolly. "Think
about this while I'm gone Miss Love, if you don't join with me, I'll have to let them do
what they please to you. Good day Miss Love." The words were like a death toll bell for her�
she knew she couldn't ignore him much longer, she hoped her friends, and her love were on
their way over here.
"What do you see Colonel." Le'salle asked when he ran into the main control room.
"It looks like 3 gundams and a carrier sir." Colonel Mitchell said, looking down at the
radar screen. "Fine, Shoot for the gundams first, The carrier is harmless."
Brittany was out of the handcuffs after she pulled a bobby pin out of her hair.
"They never make these like they used to." She said quietly to herself. "Now to get out of
this hell hall." She added, She didn't have to do much, because at that moment, A guard came
through, but the guard looked like�
"Trowa?" Brittany asked to the silhouetted figure standing in the doorway. "Yea, let's go,
General Le'salle will be back for you in no time." He said, pulling her out of the room.
"Looks like you already took care of your handcuffs." He added, smirking slightly. "Yea,
Sure did." She replied as they ran out into the almost empty halls. "Wufei contacted me,
He has both our gundams in a carrier right outside of the base, We should head there." He
stated matter-o-factly. "Alright, let's get out of here." The sounds of gunfire arose amidst
the smoke filled halls as solders shot at them. "Can't you tell them you are taking me to the
damn general?" Brittany asked, shooting at them with the spare gun Trowa gave her. "That IS
the general." Trowa replied, busy leading Brittany out of this place by her other hand.
They reached the base gates in no time, Trowa was busy though, trying to get though,
while Brittany simply climbed over. "Need help?" She asked as she hit the ground. She shot at
the main control buttons, and the gates flew open. "STOP THEM!!! I WANT THE GIRL ALIVE!!!"
Le'salle screamed as the solders shot at them, Wufei then at that time rode up on his
motorcycle, with hers riding along side. "I got it back for you." Wufei said. Brittany got
on with Wufei, and Trowa rode on Brittany's. The shots rung out in the night, along with all
the ms' fighting against the gundams.
They reached the carrier in no time flat, for being on motorcycles. "Here, Sam said
you might need these." Wufei said as he threw a pair of shoes and socks to Brittany. "Thanks
hon. I was going barefoot this entire time." She laughed. "Are you okay?" Wufei asked quieter
, so Trowa wouldn't hear them. "Yea. I'm fine� thanks to you." She said just as quietly, as
she hugged him. "I should have listened to you. I'm sorry." Wufei said. "No, it's not your
fault� you got to me just after I was kidnapped. I'm grateful. Now let's get to work shall
we?" She laughed. Wufei nodded, and let her go to her gundam. He looked back once more before
he jumped into his own gundam and took off for the ever growing fight.
Once Le'salle saw that they had reached the carrier with possibly the other 3 gundams
in it� he had wished he had ordered them to shoot it down. He had spent too much time at
parties and banquets, as opposed to actual combat. He immediately ran back to the base to
get into his own gundam.
Brittany was the second one to fly into battle, after Trowa in other words. Wufei
guarded the rear. "Hey Brittany! How's it going?" Samantha asked, blowing up yet another
mobile suit. "I'm fine, thanks for rescuing me." Brittany replied. Immediately there was
more ms' coming out of the base, and a different type of gundam� Brittany knew immediately
that it belonged to General Le'salle. She went after him, but was passed immediately up by
the Shenlong.
The gundam seemed to not want to fight the Shenlong, but he seemed to want to fight
it. "General Le'salle, Lay down your weapons� we have you beat." Brittany commanded over the
intercom. "I don't think you know me well enough, my lovely princess� I WILL have you soon
enough." He replied. "You won't have anything when I'm through with you!" Wufei yelled. "Why
do you say that?" He asked jokingly, which made Wufei even angrier. "You tried to steal my
girlfriend!" He shouted. "So she did have a boyfriend?" Le'salle said quietly to himself.
"Try, but she WILL be mine, even if I have to kill you!" He bellowed over the intercom,
sending Wufei into hysterics. "I WILL KILL YOU BASTARD!!!" Wufei screamed over the intercom
as he lashed out at the enemy suit.
Brittany saw this while fending off other suits. She seriously considered moving and
changing her name� This was the FIRST time she had been fought over, by ANYONE. She was more
used to it happening to Samantha. When she saw Le'salle damage the Shenlong, She forgot about
staying far from the fight, and went to help her love. "Die Le'salle!" Brittany yelled as she
struck his gundam with her beam rifle. He staggered back before Wufei tore into him with his
twin beam triden. Le'salle might have been down, but not out. He used the beam sword that
came with all gundams to attack the Shenlong. At the state the Shenlong was in, he could
only hold out so long until the sword destroyed the shield, so Brittany went and attacked
again. "Brittany, this is my fight!" Wufei roared at her. "I'm sorry, but your power's
dangerously low, You need me!" She yelled back. "That doesn't matter!" he yelled. "Listen, I
don't want you to die before I get to torture you anymore,
so just hang back, and retreat, I'll take care of this scum bag!" She commanded. "Brittany�
I can't, I can't destroy my honor for being with you." He said,
quieter. "I know, but trust me, I can handle this� At least let me help if nothing else."
She said. "Will you two stop conversing already? The guy's getting away!" Stefanie
informed, Brittany was about to go after him, but the wing zero used the double beam cannon
to shoot him to oblivion. "You two should have been aware." Heero stated bluntly. "I know�
My fault." Brittany said. "Whatever ya'll, let's go home!" Samantha yelled as they all flew
to Quatre's home. "Finally, all our missions are complete." Stefanie said flying alongside
the Wing Zero.
Everyone was ecstatic to have Brittany back� everyone but her. She sighed heavily as
she stepped outside the front door and into the night. Everything was so quiet� she wondered
why she hadn't noticed it before. "You alright?" Wufei asked as he stepped outside the door.
"Mmmm, yea. Just getting some fresh air." Her eyes saddened as she said that. "I'm glad
you're back. I was worried what that General would have done to you." Wufei said leaning on
the wall next to her. "He almost got to me, he was determined to have me� and look where it
got him. I hope he rots in hell." Brittany said clenching a fist. "Don't talk like that� at
least you're back." Wufei said. "Thanks� I guess I was a little more trouble than my worth
though� you might
want to reconsider dating me� this thing does
happen often when I'm away from work." Brittany laughed smugly. Wufei reached over and
pulled Brittany into his arms. "No� you are worth more than the trouble. Besides, I see
where Le'salle was coming from." Wufei said. "Huh?" Brittany looked up confused. "You are
very, VERY beautiful� What man wouldn't want you to himself?" Brittany's eyes widened and
she blushed in his arms. "No, don't say that� Now I'm blushing!" Brittany managed to laugh
out. "So? You look cute when you blush." Wufei smiled back. "Now that's really something
I've never heard from a guy!" Samantha laughed as she walked out the door. "Hey Sam, You
want something?" Brittany asked with an eyebrow raised. "I was just coming out to tell you
that we are going to start a little game and we really want you to join us." Samantha smiled
wickedly and walked back inside. "I'm afraid now." Brittany said sarcastically. "You and me
both." Wufei nodded. "Anyway, thanks for coming to my rescue� I really appreciated it."
Brittany said as she leaned up and kissed Wufei on the cheek before running inside. "C'mon!
Let's hurry and find out what they're playing!" Brittany laughed. Wufei nodded and followed
Brittany inside. He stuffed his hands in the pockets of his blazer, and felt the little box
that held the engagement ring� the one he bought when Brittany and he ran off the first time.
He had realized at that time that he was in fact truly in love with her, but he couldn't ask
her to marry him yet. They need time to cool down.
