History: Kiros parents were betrothed to each other from birth, to another couple. But, sadly, the woman Nolan was betrothed to fell in love for the man Kiros mother was betrothed to. Secretly, the couples parents changed it. About 2 years after their marriage, Nolan and his wife had a baby girl. They named her Joan, but she died 5 days later. They were heartbroken. In the next 5 years, the couple had 3 more children, each either dead on birth or died within a week of birth. Finally, after 8 years of marriage and 4 dead children, Kiro was born. He was under very close eye for the first couple of weeks. Watching for death, which never came. His parents were very joyful that one of their children finally lived. 3 years later, Kiros mother had another child. It was a girl, but within the birth the mother died of blood loss. Nolan named the little girl Mai, his wifes favorite name. The same as Kiro, Mi was under a close watch the first few weeks and Kiro wasnt even allowed to see her. After she was said to be ok and be able to live, Kiro helped raise her. He took her for walks though the forest, to meet the animals and plants. Nolan was very happy that his children got along so well. He was also happy that Kiro kept Mai busy, so she was out of his way when he worked. Kiro never had a problem with taking his sister. She was the joy of his life. Kiro and Mai were taught many things from the elders and enjoyed their stories. Kiro never did find someone to marry, and people started to talk about him. His father didnt betroth an of his children, for he didnt like it. Mai chose her own husband and got married about 7 years before the war broke out. When the war did, both Kiros father and brother-in-law went to fight. Kiro was kept in the village as a doctor, because of his knowledge of herbs. Kiro never say his father after he said good-bye. Every since then, Mais husband as been away but for a week or two between battles. Mai still has hope that the war will stop and their people can return the forest to what it was. Kiro was different, he wanted to, but he know he might never see the end. When his princess was to be sent away to a peaceful island away from the war, Kiro decided to go also. Maybe they have a garden in need of up keep, was his reason.
