The world of Shinma is a dark and cruel place were humans are vermin, prey for the undead. Yet, little do humans know of this land so the Shinma stay hidden and the mysterious deaths continue. ONe girl, half human, half Shinma wanders among them. She is not afraid. She is the Vampire sentinel, sworn to control Shinma and send them back to the darkness - Miyu. But due to her dark life she has chosen a different path of living. She is the infamous Toorima Hime, the Phantom Thief Princess.
Now a Western Shinma ship has entered the Japanese realm, the headstrong Larva among their crew. Miyu is yet to show them how cruel the Spirit Realm can be.
She does not deal with visitors lightly.
To live in a palace of ambience and beauty, to wear stunning kimonos and have girls wait on you everyday. Isn't that every girl's desire? Miyu has everything yet has never felt a greater need to break free. She has never seen the world outside the city and is nothing more than an object to her father. When she finally slips away Larva, a guard with a similiar boredom of his repetitive life is assigned to return her to the palace. Aided by the renegade Satsu they leave the kingdom.
But the world outside the safe compounds is a twisted place and soon all three are caught up in a plot of power, magic

Miyu has encountered many Shinma, but never one as strange or territorial as Rikki. But with Rikki's presence comes a number of oddities. Such as how does Larva recognise her? Why are the local Shinma lying low? And what is the secret behin Rikki's individual power?
