Kiev 88 - Various cameras - views.
Note: I have another Kiev 88 type - Similar, or the same as Kiev 688M from Hartblei (made by Hartblei technician) - Has cloth curtains, Lever MLU, flocking, Hartblei Wind Crank Hartblei offset shutter release button, twist and lock P6 mount. The camera front nameplate is "Kiev" the side nameplate is "Kiev 88". Exactly the same as Kiev 688M as shown on Hartblei website. Has the earlier Hartblei upgraded base with two tripod sockets and upgraded center portion, but not shoe for locking on Hasselblad tripod mount.
Some early model Kiev 88CM cameras had dull metal base shoe which fits on no known tripod holder. This was soon discontinued. Most of the Kiev 88CM base shoes are very sturdy have tripod sockets which screws cannot press into shutter gears - and these shoes have been imitated on Arax, DVD Technik and some Hartblei (but not all) Hartblei cameras. Apparently some of the independent technicians have access to the following parts - Hartblei wind cranks, Hartblei offset shutter release buttons, Hartblei & Kiev 88CM upgraded baseplates and shoes and Pentacon 6 Twist and Lock mounts, plus Kiev 88CM wind cranks - as these same parts have appeared all over on cameras from "unofficial sources".

Tech Details on Photos-
Taken with Salyut-C camera and 65MM (early) MIR lens - adapted as preset for Kiev 88. On AGFA Portrait 160 color negative film - f8 at 1/60th with one photoflood bulb in pan reflector. Scanned in on Umax Astra 2200 scanner.
Note: Unless noted - all Kiev 88 cameras have standard Kiev 88 base (not upgraded) with two tripod sockets.

Called a "third party" or early ('99) Hartblei upgraded Kiev 88 with black metal shutter curtains, Hartblei wind crank, button MLU. Winds extremely smoothly. Looks like a similar KievUSA upgraded camera.
ARAX (K88) custom made with Black Metal curtains, Black finish - no MLU - smooth wind with NT back and Arsat 80MM lens.
