Below shows the focus systems locking ring.
It is located in its for/aft position by the flats cut into the thread.

Once again note down how all of the parts fit as the focus will only work rite when put back together correctly and its easy to make a mistake if you just rely on memory.

When this lock plate is removed the whole focus assembly can be unscrewed from the main lens body.
There are no springs or little balls that can fly out unexpectedly during this operation.

Don't topuch these screws unless you have to adjust the infinity focus setting


The focus assembly comes off in one piece as above.
Unless this part is faulty in some way DO NOT disassemble it any further.
Doing so is a tricky operation as it upsets the infinity focus setting of the focus system which can be a real pain to get right again , so unless you are familiar with lens repairs do not undo the tiny screws like the one between the 3.5 and 4 M marks.
The are three screws not to undo , one near the infinity mark and another one not shown a bit further around.
