for winning the Men's Advanced Pair rowing race at the
1999 California Henley regatta in Redwood Shores, CA.
Aaron and I began rowing together in college at UC Irvine, in 1993.

Here's the gang having breakfast after our win in Redwood Shores.
Starting with Aaron (in the shades in front) going counter clockwise:

This is a picture of my friend Jed Rogge (stroke) and me (bow) rowing a pair
on Newport Harbor, CA, in preperation for the 1996 club national championships,
where we eventually took the silver medal. We also rowed at the Royal
Canadian Henley Regatta that summer, where we placed
5th in the Senior Pair event and 3rd in the Elite Pair event.
Jed and I began rowing together at UC Irvine in the fall of 1991.

That's me running Ewing's rapid on the Kern River, just north of Kernville, CA.
For those of you that don't know, this is NOT rowing, this is whitewater kayaking!
